Full temple garb in September Dawn
1:10 in this Youtube clip you see three men in full temple garb, including the stupid hats.
I cannot wait to watch this.
For all of you defenders, remember that it was this very movie that FORCED LDS Inc to finally make a public statement about this Mormon atrocity.
For that, you should thank the producers of this film.
HOWEVER, I really doubt it will change how the event is portrayed and taught to the kids, both at church/seminary and Utah history taught at Mormon majority public schools.

The more previews/reviews of September Dawn the more excited I get as I realize it probably will be one of the great additions to my tool box of truth.
I think the directors should give me free tickets to the show as I have advertised the upcoming release to many friends and associates.
Not only will millions see the early doctrines of Mormonism, but they will get to see the the temple clothes on the big screen! Gut wrenching bizarre and just plain weird will be their experience.

September Dawn is going to go down in flames. The only people who support will be those that hate the church and do not care about the facts.
Porter your likely to lose friends recommending this movie to them. An hour and 20 minutes in they will sneak into Pirates of the Carribean just to get some relief from this ugly film.

Who knows what the public will reaction will be like ahead of time? I remember being in the Broward Auditorium when two of the schools recent graduates were on hand to show clips from the movie they were making called Star Wars, and to get audience feedback. I remember a few of the people, in the small group afterward, discussing the clips and saying that as a science fiction movie, it would never go anywhere.
I imagine many Mormons will be unhappy if it becomes an award winner in any category.

Mitt Romney has the public whipped into a frenzy and they are hungry for more information about the Mormon cult.
I bet just the opening of September Dawn will surpass the number of views of all LDS based movies.
From your other posts, it appears you are a deluded chapel Mormon. Welcome to the board sucker.

And from your posts I gather that you are an upleasant bully full of insults and self-loathing. Which upon choosing between the two I would chose chapel Mormon every time.
Again, I fully believe that I know more about church history and it's "darker" sides than you do. I have been submerged in this stuff my whole life. So whose the sucker?
My assessment of September Dawn comes from respected, non-lds critics who have seen the film. They seem to be unanimous in panning it calling it an overblown, ugly soap-opera. You seem to under estimate the publics ability to recognize this film for what it is: a Mormon hit piece. Which would be fine and dandy if it the direction, acting, film making was any good.

9/11 What are the Odds??
It's definately a hit piece, but it opens the doors to many unanswered and valid questions. The church is now in a place it should have been seen in, in 1857.
After watching the trailer, I discovered "the church" had posted their damage control on their "official" site. As sure as pop psychology, they reminded us at least twice that the Mormons were just as much the victims as those they slaughtered because they had to live with their evil barbarity. Makes me sick to my stomach. It's like memorializing ALL the dead that flew the planes into the Twin Towers.
Heartless ethnocentrism, ancestor worship:

I'm sure they will reword a few comments before publishing it in the September Ensun.

Really? Reading your reply to my questions makes me think you don't know squat, either that or you are lying:auteur55 wrote:And from your posts I gather that you are an upleasant bully full of insults and self-loathing. Which upon choosing between the two I would chose chapel Mormon every time.

"Sec 121. Bigamy consists in the having of two wives or two husbands at one and the same time, knowing that the former husband or wife is still alive. If any person or persons within this State, being married, or who shall hereafter marry, do at any time marry any person or persons, the former husband or wife being alive, the person so offending shall, on conviction thereof, be punished by a fine, not exceeding one thousand dollars, and imprisoned in the penitentiary, not exceeding two years. It shall not be necessary to prove either of the said marriages by the register or certificate thereof, or other record evidence; but the same may be proved by such evidence as is admissible to prove a marriage in other cases, and when such second marriage shall have taken place without this state, cohabitation in this state after such second marriage shall be deemed the commission of the crime of bigamy, and the trial in such case may take place in the county where such cohabitation shall have occurred."

Smith broke the law of the land even though he told the world the following:
"We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law."

Joseph Smith himself affirmed monogamy to be the only form of marriage permissible in his church in the church's official 1838 publication:
"Do the Mormons believe in having more wives than one? No, not at the same time. But they believe that if their companion dies, they have a right to marry again."

I don't believe he ever did. I've been shown some of these contradictions but they aren't as persuasive to me as they are to some. The whole religion doesn't crumble due to some supposed scriptural contradictions.
The 1835 edition of the "Doctrine and Covenants," which was the official edition during the Prophet Joseph Smith's church administration, specifically prohibited the practice of polygamy:
Doctrine and Covenants Section 101, Verse 4 (1835 edition):
"Inasmuch as this church of Christ has been reproached with the crime of fornication and polygamy; we declare that we believe that one man should have one wife; and one woman but one husband; except that in the event of death when either is at liberty to marry again." I think very little of what he did was in the name of polygamy.
- It heavily contributed to, if not caused the Mountain Meadows Massacre, due to the anger the members had for the death of their beloved perverted Parley P. Pratt for stealing an Arkansas man's wife to be his polygamous wife. This man then killed Pratt for doing so, just before the Fancher party made the doomed trek into the belly of the Utah theocracy where they were murdered by Mormons fueled with hatred for the impending US Army AND a wagon train from the state where Pratt was killed.
-Its foundations laid out the temple ceremony and what you now call celestial marriage.
Polygamy is as Mormon as apple pie is American.
Guess what bud, this film is far less misleading than the facade that LDS Inc foists upon the unwitting public about the orgins of Mormonism. My assessment of September Dawn comes from respected, non-lds critics who have seen the film. They seem to be unanimous in panning it calling it an overblown, ugly soap-opera. You seem to under estimate the publics ability to recognize this film for what it is: a Mormon hit piece. The Mormon church brought September Dawn upon themselves. They had 150 years to make reparations, apologize, and do the right thing. Being forced to apologize is horrible PR.
It is my opinion that LDS Inc deserves every ounce of disgrace and mistrust that this film throws at their feet. I could only hope it would be a heavier burden upon them publicly.
