When Dan comes back from his trip, we will see if he is up to your challenge.
Why don't you start a new thread, presenting your arguments first?
I bet you are not up to the challenge and will back out and not start a new topic.
Maybe I will and maybe I won't. I do as I please. I don't have to put any money in my mouth but I stand by what I say, nonetheless.

Ahhhh back tracking already.... tsk tsk, I knew it.

You are like the school yard punk who was too short and chubby to play any sports yet you would go around the games and say things like, "Well, I could do that and this and the other, waaay better than those JOCKS! ... but I can't because the coach does not want me on the team as it will make the other players jealous..."
No back peddling here. Just being reserved and careful about what new tasks I take on. Sounds like you have confidence in Peterson and his FARMS pals in defending their brand of Book of Abraham apologetics. Perhaps you think their argument is stronger than mine? Do you believe in the missing roll? I don't.

You're an idiot. I was a stoner in high school during the 70's and hated sports. That's right, long hair and Led Zeppelin. I smoked pot and dropped acid - absolutely no interest in watching sports. It just goes to show how silly you are in sizing me up. By the way, I have a 32" beltline and look 15 years younger than I am.
Excellent. This is just about ready to split off into a new thread, or maybe two: which MDB posters do you most want to see a photo of (and of course the companion/converse MAD poster thread).
I don't believe any of the Book of Abraham is divine. No, I don't believe the missing scroll theory... I do believe in the missing BRAIN theory, of which both you and Dan suffer from...
I do believe Dan could mop the floor with your ass in a Book of Abraham discussion. He has several times already.
I think you both are kooks, but I'd put my money on Dan in such a kook fight.

My first pick is Paul Osborne.

I bet CK thought I was prettier. Hey, I was disappointed with your pic, too, bro.

I don't recall ever arguing with Dan about he Book Abraham controveries. My past discussions with him involved Book of Mormon issues regarding Cumorah.
Anyway, I can understand your conclusion in dismissing the missing roll theory because it is indeed false. Now, I don't think my brain is missing. I just see things very differently than you do and accept Joseph Smith to be human which is something some Mormons won't allow. It seems that many Mormons think he was perfect. I have a hard time with the way Church material presents our prophets in such a perfect light in order to produce happy faithful thoughts. Too me it's too sugar coated and I don't care for it. But, the Church leaders are at the helm and decide how things are portrayed. They will be held accountable for the way they present history, and they know that. I wish it was done differently but I'm not in charge and thank goodness for that.
