I still haven't seen the new Harry Potter movie.

I was too busy reading the last book!

Maybe I'll be able to see it this weekend.

I've seen nothing "new."

I did see (via cable) a film currently in theatres, This Is England. It has some charming elements being the story of a young, bullied boy who's befriended by a loose knit "gang" of mellow skin heads only to fall under the spell of a recently paroled white supremacist "political" skin head. Ultimately, though, it pretty much went nowhere and petered out considerably by the end.

The actor who plays the racist skin, "Combo," is a guy whose been in many, many British films and television shows, but I couldn't put my finger on just where I'd seen him last. Finally, DH came up with it! He's the "scummy man" in the Arctic Monkey's video of the same name.

Speaking of DVD's, I finally saw "The Good Shepherd" the other night on DVD. We bought it a while ago.

Matt Damon is an awesome actor. He's so natural. I thought he did a great job.

The movie is rather dark, though. There's a fairly disturbing torture scene.

THE SIMPSONS!!!! OMG!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE GO SEE IT!!! IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO SEE IT GO SELL ANYTHING THAT IT REQUIRES (INCLUDING BLOOD, SEMEN, OR CHILDREN) TO SEE THIS MOVIE. DO IT NOW!!!!!

One of the main theaters in my area is playing nothing but the Simpsons. It must be good! I used to watch the show many years ago and loved it.

I will have to see Oceans 13 if you liked it. I loved the other two. (the first one was the best in my opinion)

I really liked this movie. There were some parts that I laughed so hard I was hurting. Most of "The Office" cast is in this movie. The user reviews were great, but the critics only gave it two stars. Everybody in the theater was laughing so hard that you couldn't hear some of the lines.

Bourne Ultimatum

I have been counting down the days until this movie opens. Matt Damon is one of my favorite actors. My DH looks a little bit like him so it's OK if my mouth drops when I see him onscreen. I am still bummed they killed off his girlfriend in Bourne Supremacy.

Well I saw that Harry Potter movie. Husband thought it was the best of the series. We went opening day and the kids dressed up and all that. So that was fun.

I rented 23 with Jim Carey and was rather disappointed with it. I fell asleep 2 nights in a row trying to watch it. When I finally finished watching it I felt look the oomph was missing from the ending.

Umm.. watched a really silly movie (actually only about half of it) from the director/producers of Saw that was called Deadly Silence? Or Dead Silence? It's a puppet that kills people... so that was lame. The acting was really bad.. which I can sometimes over look in a horror movie. But not when there's a goofy puppet killing people. That's just a bit too sci-fi channel made for tv movie for my tastes.

My summer movie thread comes to a close with The Bourne Ultimatum....

I'd give a review.....but there's no point. This movie was the best film of the summer....hands down. Best of the trilogy, best Matt Damon movie (with apologies to the Legend of Bagger Vance).....see this film if you haven't seen it yet.

I finally saw the Harry Potter movie today!

I LOVED it!

I actually liked it better than the book. (Book 5, that is).

Book 5 was my least favorite of the series. It was very dark. I hated the whole child abuse issue that occurred with Umbridge torturing Harry.

The movie covered it, but it was much less dark, and the overall feel of the movie was much more "fun" than the book.

I can't wait for movies 6 and 7 now that I've read all of the books!

;)

Did anyone else catch that the films are really portraying Snape more as a "good guy" than Rowling did in the books? Rowling kept you guessing more.

I find it interesting.

I keep meaning to recommend The Host on DVD. I love that the hero of the film is a family...
