The Salt Lake Tribune is owned by MediaNews Group, which is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.

Are there no other radio stations in Utah besides KSL? Are there no other television stations in Utah besides KSL-TV?

Are there no other newspapers in Utah besides the Deseret Morning News and the Salt Lake Tribune?

The current editor of the Deseret Morning News (since 2006) is Joseph A. Cannon, a Mormon. His predecessor, the Pulitzer Prize-winning former editor of the Christian Science Monitor John Hughes, was not.

MediaNews Group also owns the Park City Record.

Do you think that the Church owns the Logan Herald Journal, the Ogden Standard-Examiner, the southern Utah Spectrum, and the Provo Daily Herald? Just curious.

And you just recently had lunch with them both to discuss your latest book, right?

Well . . . As a matter of fact, Carrie Moore interviewed me a couple of months ago and, as a result, two articles about me appeared in the Deseret Morning News a week ago -- one about my Muhammad biography and the other (less noticed) about my work with a small on-going Arab/Western dialogue project called "The Malta Group," which last met at the end of May (or thereabouts) in southern Spain.

And Joe Cannon, the editor of the Deseret Morning News, is an old friend of mine. His brother was my first senior companion in the Switzerland Zürich Mission, his other brother (Chris, now a congressman) was briefly a roommate of mine at BYU, and I've known the entire family for well over thirty years. And, yes, he's been helping me to find a publisher for my next book project, for which I hope to have the first draft done before I leave for Europe early next month.

The MediaNews Group is a puppet organization for the Church, which took control of the Trib (via MediaNews Group) in an effort to silence critics such as Peggy Fletcher Stack. I posted on this a week ago or so, in a thread entitled, "Is the Church Trying to Muzzle the SL Trib"?

Oh.. my.. god!!!!

They did edit it!

They removed the part where a Key Bank employee was reported saying "oh my god" three times as the building fell..

The Mormon theocracy is alive and well in Ewwtah.

There is no profanity in the article. It's in the video. So the complainer was a bit off target, since she complained about something that doesn't exist.

And yes, the church owns both the DN and the Trib. They control most of the news in UT, through KSL radio and tv, the DN, and the Trib.
There WAS a line about a Key Bank employee who exclaimed "oh my god!" three times as the building fell.

Guess what? It was censored.

In that case, the situation is far more dire than previously imagined.

A list of the newspapers that the Church controls through its Denver-based puppet organization, owned by apparently bogus "non-Mormons," along with the CBS Television affiliate in Anchorage, Alaska, can be found at

http://www.medianewsgroup.com/properties/

Apparently, the attempt to silence my friend Peggy Stack failed. (Incidentally, I hadn't realized that she's a critic.) Here are some of her recent articles:

For those who doubt the article was censored, take a look at the almighty Google:

Deseret Morning News | Key Bank tower comes down
... new Key Bank tower, a block to the east, the only words she could find as the building toppled was three progressively louder shrieks of, "Oh, my God!" ...

So the original paragraph read:
"It's bittersweet," said Julie Nelson, a 31-year employee of Key Bank watching from the new Key Bank tower, a block to the east, the only words she could find as the building toppled was three progressively louder shrieks of, "Oh, my God!"
