Peer Review

Post by _Mercury »

Is this (Shady Acres) the closest some academics will get to Peer review? I am not speaking of the academics main body of study, but more their pseudo scientific hobby, Mormon apologetics.

Actually, I kind of like the idea of BBS's constituting a kind of peer review.

(I know that's not your point, but your post did suggest that way of thinking about it to me...)

In that manner, Dr. Mercury could give his thumbs down.

As a whole, no. More like a quick visceral response.

Public forums, no. However, I do know that when I worked as the web designer for the astrophysics department at WKU, they had a closed (private) forum site for peer review of dissertations and other articles written. It was used by WKU, EKU, UK, and UofL in beta format. We were trying to modify the code of the forum site to auto PGP the posts by individuals and then backup these posts remotely. Didn't work there long enough to see that to fruit.
