I didn't say I would kill the bastard who called my daughter that name - only give him an extended stay in hospital. But yes, my feeling is I could kill him.

gramps wrote:Ray, that choice of scripture here is worse than any apologetic dodge that I've seen. You aren't trying out for the team, are you?

"The team"? I don't hold Mormon apologetics in the contempt you do.

Ray, you changed your whole tune (as usual). Go back in the thread. Yes, you did say that and that is why I have been having this discussion with you.

I'm happy to hear that you wouldn't kill someone who called your daughter bad names. That is surely a relief off my mind.

You are obviously not familiar with expressions, maybe especially Oz expressions. The use of the term "deadmeat" is often used as a metaphor for "pulping" someone. Ask Noel, not that I expect him to ever back me up.

Ray,

Runtu lives in the belly of the beast.

Driving by the MTC must be like coming out the anus.

Runtu comes here to vent the daily frustrations from living in "Hinckley and the Mormon factory."

Ray, you are lying. Go back and read your response to me when I asked you about dead meat.

Your try-out for the apologetic team is going well, for sure. Passing with flying colors, indeed.

Edited to add: perhaps you had one too many beers before you went off to bed, Ray, which is understandable.

I fully understand that. But "there must needs be opposition in all things", and alternative views. That's why we're here, isn't it? Give and take. He gives it to the Mormons, so I give it to him. So on and so forth. I happen to think the missionaries are a breath of fresh air in an increasingly chaotic society, and many people I have talked to only wish more of their young people would be as decent as the missionaries. Last Saturday night, while at work, I saw a drunk male urinating in the main street, and this is not the first time I've seen this. I don't care what people do in private, but maybe you'll understand why, in contrast to this behaviour, people more than welcome young clean-cut men in "white shirts and suits". My perception is completely, 100%, different than Runtu's.

This is par for the course in Japan. I guess everything is relative.

Pity you don't pick up on statements like Tali-Bachman seriously considering blowing himself up for the Church. And he really meant it! Oh no, it's all a blaze of guns for Mormons and Mormon defenders, who are made "offenders for a word".

I have not changed my mind. If I ever see "bat" he is deadmeat. Or would you prefer "pulp"?

There's another aspect of Alma you ignored, Gramps, so I'll quote it again:

47 And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall defend your families even unto bloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion. Alma 43:47

When the physical violence starts against Mormons, don't be shocked at the response. It starts verbally, mainly through angry exmos, IE, apostates, then, eventually, it will become physical. They have a right to defend their families, and their religion. That is why, for a long time now, I've been telling exmos to lay off, to back off, and LEAVE Mormons alone. But they continue to antagonise them, because they can't get rid of this anti-agression and obsession.

Ray, I just have to say here that I think you have gone off your rocker. Honestly.
