This will be the last post on the topic of KG so as not to further distract from this great thread.
Too late, Dan already did.
Kevin Graham was permanently banned from the message board about a year ago. He had been banned on more than one occasion prior to that. No one wanted him here because of his ugly posts in the Islam threads.
This is false. The majority of the posters who were discussing the Islam related issues, wanted me to post. There were only two or three who were protesting, and this was generally due to the fact that they could not refute anything I said. This was the reason I started my own forum, to drag the Islam discussions elsewhere since the FAIR forum wasn’t tolerant of them. As a result, a dozen posters from FAIR signed up on my forum and I even managed to lure the real trouble-maker, Trad Buton on over. He was constantly writing emails to the mods there complaining about my opinions. Eventually, he was banned too. But in any event, you can ask posters like bcspace about this issue. Many posters from FAIR were sick and tired of their intolerance of their opinions regarding Islam, and I was hardly the only one who was being censored on that issue. So it is an absolute falsehood that everyone wanted me out. There were only a few who indicated any discomfort with what I said, and none who said they wanted me out.
I was never banned for anything related to Islam. The first time I was ever banned was almost exactly year ago shortly after the birth of my son. I remember it well, and it is all documented on the forum for anyone who cares to verify. I was banned because I said Hauglid was fabricating an excuse to bail out of his discussion with Brent.
They protect their scholars, but when CK flat out said John Gee lied, he wasn’t banned. Nor are others banned when they accuse other LDS scholars of duplicity. They were just dying to find a reason to ban me because they do not know how to handle disagreement from within.
Against all other mods opinions otherwise, the evil Juliann made an offer to KG to post again upon certain conditions: KG made a promise that as a condition to resume posting, he would not discuss Islam *at all.* He broke that promise and was banned permanently shortly thereafter.
Again, this is absolutely false, and it is verifiable on their forum. I was never banned for that. I was put on the que temporarily, but just before that Oreos led me to believe my restriction had been lifted. I asked for clarification to which he never responded. I remember quite vividly Ray contesting the veracity of all this until I provided the entire PM exchange on the Mormonism Discussion Forum for everyone to see. And if you read the thread in question, whereby I “broke” my promise you’d see that there was nothing in my post that could possibly be interpreted as anti-Islamic.
There were many discussions back then about the Crusades, the Inquisitions and early Christian history, and it was inevitable for something regarding Islam to pop up. I didn’t simply abandon the discussion just because that happened, so I was accused of breaking a promise when that happened. Oreos emailed me and asked me why I was posting on Islam. I responded in detail, telling him the circumstance. Dan Peterson had challenged me on something in that thread and I followed through with it.
He's skirted this unconditional ban several times by creating new user profiles. As enjoyable as he may have been for the last incarnation, he chose to give up his posting privileges here a year ago when he broke his promise.
Again, this is pure fiction.
This most recent sock puppet went unnoticed by a mod until yesterday at which time that mod put a little joke line in "JasonH"s profile and altered the subtitle (adding the a.k.a.) to this thread - which was noticed and commented upon by some. Today, Momus saw that KG hadn't been banned (since being noticed yesterday) and banned him.
This is unlikely, because I have seen the moderators lurking in those discussions on numerous occasions. I had been pegged “Kevin” for several days and I was involved in the most interesting discussions the forum. And I am supposed to believe that during all this time, no moderator realized I was there until, of course, when Dan Peterson shows up! Ah, the amazing “coincidence” rears its ugly head again.
Hate to say it conspiracy folks and paranoids, and hate to contradict the good Professor, but DCP had nothing to do with anything here with regards to Kevin Graham. Not now. Not ever. Sorry to disappoint.
History tells a different story. While I do not believe Dan writes the mods and complains about me, it cannot be denied that his mere presence draws their attention to a new level, and Dan knows it.
