Frankly, I would seriously wonder if you DID select our forum, or any forum, MAD included, as the focus of your intellectual life.

LOL

Precisely.

You like being here because you find that you're morally superior to everyone else here because you post using your real name, or you like being here because, in the long run, you're just as "evil" as you imply the rest of us are?

What about those of us who DO express our views in real life the same way we do here?

Bob, you probably don't believe me, but I state the same views I express here with my real life counterparts.

Your posts are intellectually weak. One does not justify evil cowardice by pointing to nice things said elsewhere. My post is not directed to your nice consistency, as you think it is. Rational people are not persuaded by that particular argument.

As far as my "moral superiority," and my personal "evil," let me point out that this Board is a big fat target for criticism, isn't it? Why shouldn't I use my willingness to put my name on my posts as a higher moral basis upon which to challenge the posts of those unwilling to do so as they defame and libel?

Well, you're just a ball of sunshine.

Most of my posts are more on a social level. That's why I come here...not for some great intellectual debate.

However, as "intellectually weak" as you seem to think my posts are, I have stood toe to toe with you in the past.

Unlike you, I don't get my kicks out of being nasty to people just for the hell of it. You, on the other hand, seem to thrive on it.

Since you're a man of integrity, I'm holding you to the promise you made when you supposedly left the board last time.

Next time I'm in California, I'll collect on your offer to buy lunch...and order the biggest steak they have!

Remember when you were in grade school...or perhaps even middle school and you "got into a fight" with your friend and the kids chose sides? And in the middle of class you passed "hate notes" and shot dirty looks at the other kids?

That's what this thread is.

I would say that he knows he is, but, sadly, I suspect that he really doesn't.

He's not misrepresenting you at all. You misled people on ZLMB for nearly a year via your "FreeThinker" sockpuppet. It would probably be best if you simply owned up to it and apologized for deceiving so many people. But will you do this? I doubt it.

Who are you anyway?!

And I'd like to ask, who are you?

I'd like to state the obvious, Ray. You've been straddling this believing/nonbelieving Mormon fence for long and so tenaciously that you have split your pants. We can see your exposed parts, particularly when you go off like you do.

How ironic. There are, I guess, no Mormons on RFM "straddling this believing/nonbelieving fence"? What about Liz. What about Kevin? Does Mok straddle the liberal/orthodox fence? Liz said a long time ago she had questions, so if she never makes that leap to exmoism (she already has much sympathy with them, and is not afraid to swear, so she must be a swearing Mormon, is that hypocritical?) does that make her "exposing her parts" ( to use your silly analogy). Just how hypocritical are you? When is your time frame for Liz to submit her resignation? Kevin is all but exmo, yet he still remains a member of the Church, and says occasionally he is Mormon. When is your time frame for Kevin to submit his resignation? Why do you demand "consistency" from me, yet not from others here? Hypocrisy? You bet.

Trinity wrote:I have a suggestion. Get off the fence. Choose a side!

As if it's so simple, and so uncomplicated! Go on RFM and tell all the fence straddlers that, will you? The above comment should also be directed at Liz and Kevin. Ah, it's so easy. How about telling the exmo abusers of Mormonism on RFM to STOP their abuse until the "get off the fence".

Trinity wrote:You'll be ever so much better off by doing so. If you are a believer, act consistently with those Mormon beliefs. If you are not a believer, act consistently with whatever belief you have chosen to replace Mormonism.. And then please get a seamstress so your verbal diarrhea, should it ever again recur, will be confined to being a mess inside your pants and the rest of us don't have to be exposed to it.

So now that you've asked me to act consistently - declare who you are. No, I know "Trinity" is not your real name. Are you Mormon, exmo, a fence straddler? What are you, since you've made such clear demands of me? Don't you think I have a right to know your position, since you've demamded consistency from me? Or are you going to make your hypocrisy even worse?

Oh, and I forgot to add another one - what about Nephi, who is a liberal swearing Mormon? What is your time frame for Nephi to submit his resignation? Come to think of it, with some time I could draw up a long shopping list of such people.

But don't dodge my most important question: Where do you stand?

Ray, I have only one thing to say:

Why don't you just get off your habit-fattened ass and drag your broken heart and contrite spirit into the bishop's office, lay it all on the table, and begin the process? You stupid bastard! Don't you know that it's either now or later? And that it's a lot better to just get it over with now rather than waiting until the day when you'll wish you could do anything rather than be exposed to "the glance of his all-searching eye?"

I've been recording one of my songs in my home studio the past few days. I wrote it for myself several years ago, but I've decided I'll dedicate it to you. I've just sent you the lyrics in a PM.
... every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own god, whose image is in the likeness of the world, and whose substance is that of an idol ...

I'm not done yet, Ray. Not done. In fact, truth be told, all I manage are a few baby steps at a time. I wish I could be as fruitful as many people I have seen in my life. But, alas, I'm just one of the "weakest of the Saints" trying to push ahead as best I can; still tormented by my own "thorns in the flesh" but unwilling to surrender altogether. So I just try to keep myself pointed in the right direction on the path, and put one foot in front of the other ...

I think it's pretty funny that people argue with Ray as though he'll understand and something might change.

You might as well argue with your dog. The fact is, he's still going to drool all over the place and leave a smelly mess in his wake... as will your dog.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
