Well, at least someone missed me!
Hey, Greece was great! Thessaloniki was a cool city with lots of good food.
Mt. Olympus was really beautiful. And, yes, the gods still reside there. We climbed the highest peak and have some great pictures which I wil post later sometime.
Then, off to the beaches of halkidiki. Beautiful, with free camping, if you know where to go.
Brought home a beautiful girl. Now, we are a threesome. The new addition: a puppy that would have been put to sleep had we not have taken her. She's a gorgeous mix of shephard and only god knows whatelse, but...she now has a Greek passport, an EC chip behind her ear for travel purposes and her shots.
She is home now with us pissing all over the floor, but that will be corrected in time. (She sat on our laps during the flight.)
It is good to be back in Germany. It was too hot in Greece (34 degrees) except for the last couple of days. It feels like it is freezing here and it is around 16-17. I'm in my fleece jacket inside until things get warmed up again.
Good to be backed and missed. LOL :)

Be sure to post a pic of her, too, when you show us a few pictures of your trip!
Glad you're home safe and with a new girl,
KA
Thanks, KA. I appreciate that. We have lots of pics of her and her mom and siblings. She had three brothers and one sister. There is still one brother and one sister that probably won't be alive much longer. I wish we could have taken all three, but no room for three dogs. [sigh]
The puppy has a new name, yes. We gave her the name of the beach area in which we found her, which is Sithonia, which is part of the Halkidiki area, southeast of Thessalonica.
We'll call her Tonia, for short. She is a doll, even though she is pissing up the house. But slowly she is getting trained; very slowly. I think it will take a while, but luckily I have a schedule that allows me to be with her a lot of the time. I think I can even take her to school with me when she gets a little older. Hell, if students can bring their dogs into class, I guess I can too, no?

Resuming my vigil.
O Gramps, Gramps! Wherefore art thou Gramps?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a vigilant monkey.
'Tis but thy name that is my enemy.
Thou art thyself, though not a Gramps.
What's Gramps? It is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face. O, be some other name
Belonging to a man.
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet.
So Gramps would, were he not Gramps called,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Gramps, doff thy name;
And for thy name, which is no part of thee,
Take all my monkey self!

Whoa! Can you interpret that one for me? It's late here.
