barrelomonkeys:

what were you wearing: God reportedly likes sexy women so tone up just a little more, a little shorter skirt, white blouse (open) and you may feel a rush of air outside your home.

So today, I tried to find God again. Sorry. Zippo. Offered up me, asked? Prayed? Nothing. nil.

I think God probably does exist and hates me.

No need to ever get hung up on Truth with a big T, or any earth shattering sign. Belief is a matter of choice. Not everyone needs to believe, but there are definite benefits for those who choose to believe as mentioned in the opening post, religion does give you comfort when you are old and frail and ministers to you when you are about to die. It helps mourn for you when you have lost a spouse or a child. It celebrates with you the momentous events in your life. It helps you survive adversity. God most assuredly does not hate you. When you feel love for God, you can feel love in return and neither one can ever be quantified, for it in unnecessary: Love suffices.

Love =/= Comfort.

Just a thought.

Hi Moksha, I wasn't being facetious. I spent about 4 hours kneeled today. I meditated. I sought something? I just don't see how it's a matter of choice? If I could believe I would!

Anything that would bring me some semblance of peace or assurance. Anything that would allow me to know there is meaning and (ridiculous as it sounds) a presence that loves me? I feel really hollow, void, and I desperately am in need of help. I sought that today.

I sometimes have experiences where I feel there is something more. I usually try to shut that off, because it makes me feel insane. When my brain reacts to whatever stimuli in nature, or whatever, it makes me believe there is something more. Then my reason kicks in and recognizes that it is just my brain reacting to stimuli! I then shut down the experience for fear of letting it over take me. It's overwhelming at times. It startles me.

I struggle with the idea that there is God and yet don't know Him. Or even more, that there is God and He doesn't know me.

People that have faith seem certain. That certainty is compelling to me and I envy their assurance that there is meaning and comfort found within faith. I don't care if it's an opiate; or whatever others may label it as. I am acutely aware that faith in something greater brings peace to many. I seek that, and yet can not have it.

If you’re joking -- Ha!

If not, what motivates God to “hate(s)” you?

With 6 billion (6,000,000,000) people presently on earth and the minions which preceded this time, what makes you think (God exists) that such entity “hates” you?

An irrational conclusion in my view

Well I don't really believe in God Jak. :)

My point was, if God does exist (which I don't REALLY believe He does) then since He would choose not to comfort me I could assume he either was intentionally ignoring me, was incompetent, or enjoyed me suffering. I was searching for some serenity yesterday. I thought I'd give that a go again too.

Hey Monkeys--Maybe God really did answer your pleas.

He led you to the MADness board, which then led you to Shadyacres. How could that not be God-inspired.

I think he is looking after you, after all. :)

“Serenity” is good! Thanks for the clarification.

I didn’t see an “if” contingency in the previous statement.

You see, I just read the screen and took at face value the communication.
