Right now, the police are surrounding my house! No joke!

Post by _KimberlyAnn »

OMG!

My neighbor two doors down has a psycho ex-boyfriend who has been threatening her for weeks. A couple of weeks ago, he killed her cat. Last week, he set her car on fire in her driveway. The police have been a steady presence in the neighborhood since and I have been extremely careful not to let my daughters outside without my direct supervision.

This morning, I heard sirens and walked outside to see what was going on. There were police in my yard who yelled at me to get in the house, lock the door and close the blinds. My girls can't go to school, as we're all barricaded in the house. Tom left for work right before the police got to my house. I wish he were here. He's trying to get home, but the roads are all blocked, which is best, really. I don't want him driving into a bunch of gunfire.

We've heard gunshots in the last few minutes and the police just knocked on the door and told me the guy was on the loose, armed and dangerous. I have to be prepared to evacuate at any minute if the police ask me to. I feel pretty safe, as there are at least five policemen with guns drawn in my front yard right now, two of whom are taking cover behind my minivan. There are dozens more policemen down the street.

There's nothing to do but wait. I just put a load of laundry in the wash and am trying to keep things as normal as possible for my daughters, so they won't be scared. I'm sure we'll all be just fine, but I'm very worried for my neighbor.

Oh no!! I'm so sorry for your neighbor. I hope she's ok. That is terrifying!!

I dated a sort of psycho-stalker guy for a while, and those types are crazy. Luckily my guy was at least somewhat sane (no extreme violence) and I managed to get out of the relationship unharmed.

I used to live in the not so nice part of town, and it was crazy sometimes. Shortly after moving there, I heard a helicopter flying overhead for quite a while, so finally I called my son out (he was about 3), thinking we would look at it. I took him out onto the front porch and started looking around, and realized there were policemen with drawn guns at the two intersections by my house, and my neighbor was yelling at me to get back in the house. I eventually learned that the constant sound of a helicopter circling overhead meant there was a manhunt going on. I later learned that the street slang for that police helicopter was "ghetto bird".

I'm really sorry about that whole stalker thing Always Thinking. I was drinking way too much Tang during that phase of my life.

All I get are sketchy bits and pieces of information from neighbors.

I just got a phone call that the gunman had gotten into the house of his ex-girlfriend and is holding her and her teenage daughter hostage. I do know for certain one police officer has been shot - I could see him being loaded into the back of an ambulance. The newscast said he's in good condition, so that's a relief.

There are news helicopters hovering overhead and most of the information I get comes from the news. If I even open the door the slightest bit, the policemen go nuts yelling at me, so I'm unable to tell what's going on.

crap!!! Major gunfire!!

Gotta go see...

KA

PS - OK, I tried to see out the windows, but I can't tell what's going on. This is making me crazy!

Dang this continues to be crazy.

Remember KA...ugly people make better human shields than pretty people, so be sure to jump behind the random ugly neighbor if things get crazy. We must protect the hotties for the next generation!!

(It goes without saying that I'd make a great human shield!)

How terrifying!!! Just scary!

My heart is breaking for this poor lady, her daughter, and those policemen trying to protect her. What a nightmare!

Why are there people like this in the world?
