I wouldn't call them "happy pills." I call them pills that help me feel normal. My drugs of choice at the moment are fluoxetine and seroquel. They seem to work most of the time.

Okay, hang on just a sec. In the case of depression and anti-depressants...people don't take them to get "happy", they take them in order to function. Depression isn't a matter of adjusting one's attitude. It's a matter of faulty brain chemistry over which one has no control and it's certainly not a choice.
I don't see how anyone can possibly compare that to drinking alcohol. And no, I'm not talking about monkey's comments.

That's exactly right. If I don't take my meds, I don't function.
