Liz is an active member of the church. I couldn't answer for her "TBMness."
Is there really such a thing as a TBM (well, other than Hammer and Paul Ray)? I mean, does anyone really believe every last little thing the church teaches? I seriously doubt it.

- How many of the mods have been identified?
A bunch of them. Please cf. my blog for some of the guesses. We know for certain that one of them (likely Chaos and/or Orpheus) is Dan_G, and that another of them is juliann. We also know, due to his own boneheadedness, that Smac is a mod. I'm pretty sure that "Scotty Dog" Lloyd either is, or was, a mod. Other possible candidates include: Calmoriah, Scott Gordon, SlackTime, and Nighthawk.
- Are all the mods TBM's, or are critics also asked to help out?
The Mods are 100% TBM.
- Do the mods act as a group, or can one mod act alone in censuring a poster?
One mod can most definitely act along.
I don't think I've seen Nighthawk and Slacktime around much at MADB or maybe I just haven't been reading the same threads.
Under the new management, I suspect you are right--I would expect all the mods to be TBM's.
I consider "TBM" to be a generic and condescending acronym.

So do I. I said as much back when I was Johnny_cat, and I'll say so again. To me, it connotes unquestioning belief, and I only know a few people like that.

I do too, but that's because I equate being a TBM with being deluded about one's false and untrue worldview and cosmology. But you don't, so I don't see why you're interpreting it that way. TBM is used by both TBMs and critics on boards like MAD to refer to the particular side of the debate that involves believing Mormons.
If you consider "believing Mormon" to be a condescending term then that's you're prerogative. :-)
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

I've never considered that a member had to agree with everything to be TBM...I think that's what they mean by "putting some issues on a shelf"...they continue to be believing members even if they have doubts about some things.
Upon further reflection, it's also entirely possible that Momus has simply been renamed Chronos. The Momus tag got pretty tainted in that Nephi thread, but I can't see the mod team turning on one of their own so completely (Liz aside, of course). I had hoped for a while there that they were showing some decency, but now I'm not so sure. True decency would have been to admit that Momus had gone way too far, and as a result would not longer be mod. Instead, there's a generic "a couple of changes" announcement, and that's that.

It's quite ironic coming from Momus. Hmph. Guess he/she stays.

The thread was titled something like, "Nephi is a child" And Momus in the op wrote something about treating Nephi like the child he is and everyone else go for it.
So then Nephi comes in ranting and raving a bit and some of the MAD community come in to poke at Nephi.
When Momus replied to me she/he said I was 'lame' and that I made she/he 'wet her pants from the giggles'. Or something of that sort.
Most of it was rather silly. It was just ridiculous really. It went for some 8 pages though.
