You're right, that is your choice. Women like you are the reason I'm so intimidated by finally trying to date outside of Mormonism (not saying that all Mormon women are virgins, but at least they understand where I'm coming from). No sexually experienced woman wants to be with a virgin. This irks me. I'm willing to learn what it takes to be a good sexual partner. But there has to be a starting point. You were a virgin once as well. Have some empathy.

Liz: Thanks for the kind response.

I do have empathy for your situation, but it still doesn't mean I want to rewind the clock 20 or so years. I'm sorry you find it tough, but there are women out there who would be happy to teach you. I know several who think the idea of a virgin is rather exciting! But the reality is, there are also those of us who don't want that. I can't change that for you, just because I feel for your situation.

Hard to imagine for a BYU student. Most BYU students I know have had sex. Of course, most of them were married when it happened too.

I'm sorry you are pained by this. :(

Are ex-LDS men more repressed than LDS men? I'm not feeling particularly repressed. I also don't see Monkeys as a flirt (but hey, I admit that I'm often pretty clueless about flirting).

Brains? Like more than one? Whew, looks like I'm safe from Monkeys. I mean I'd have to have a brain instead of a CPU or 10. But just to be extra sure: I think I'm a stud. :oP

silentkid wrote:Thanks, Bond. I totally agree with this. I grew up in a Mormon household. Pre-marital sex is a no-no. Masturbation is a no-no. Watching porn is a no-no. Watching R-rated films is a no-no (never because of violence, only because of nudity or sex). When I had girlfriends in college, I always felt guilty making out with them. It would never get to the point of sex because we were all good Mormons going to BYU. No one wants to have to confess to the bishop. Nobody wants to commit the sin second only to murder. So, I never had sex...imagine that in society today. A college student who has never had sex. Book of Mormon...have you seen the movie 40 year-old virgin? Subtract 8 years and you have me. That's damned ridiculous and uncomfortable. My belief in Mormonism screwed up my notions of sex. I took that Spencer W. Kimball crap literally. I'm paying for it now. A 32 year-old trying to get caught up.

Don't worry bout it man. If it weren't for dumb luck basically and meeting a couple of very open girls and going through an open period myself I might be in the same boat. The moment you don't make it a big deal it's no longer a big deal. You seem like a totally cool dude and hopefully in time you'll meet a nice lady and you'll fall in together. I keep trying to tell myself that life is life, and you got at least 30-40 more good sexual years. You're only as old as you think you are. Age is a state of mind....I'm about 15 most of the time.
