"Moving beyond apologist persuasion, LDS polemicists furiously (and often fraudulently) attack any non-traditional view of Mormonism. They don't mince words -- they mince the truth."

-- Mike Quinn, writing of the FARMSboys, in "Early Mormonism and the Magic World View," p. x (Rev. ed. 1998)

Is Utah still LDS? Can we disown them?

I think depression is so high because there are so many exmormons. ;)

If only Mormons would figure out that the solution to life's problems can be found at the bottom of a pint glass.

Silly Mormons. Depression is for Baptists.

From the article:
In 2004, Utah reported 377 deaths by suicide. That number, adjusted for age and population, ranked it 45th in the nation, the report said.

I don't know how in the world they came up with "45th" in the nation. I would say the report has some major issues or this is a major typo. I just reviewed my 2004 AAS data, and Utah was ranked 9th (a bit different than 45th[!]) in the nation (up from 11th in 2003); which is actually (and unfortunately) pretty good for a Mountain State. Arizona swapped places with Utah and was 11th (down from 9th). 7 of the top 10 states are Mountain States, 2 are Pacific. Alaska was ranked #1 in 2004 (up from 4th). West Virginia was 8th (up from 10th) and the only Southern State in the top 10 (the next highest Southern State being Florida at #15).

Perhaps, but exmormons are among the church's fruits. By their fruits...

Someone recently said if the suicide rates are only high among non-mormons in Utah, what is it about living amongst all those Mormons that makes people want to kill themselves?
