I just wanted to add my two cents to this thread. As I see it, italicizing words and colorizing phrases are really cool and add emphasis to a point. I know this because some of these posts are more colorful than the old string of Christmas lights we used to hang on my childhood house. Furthermore, legitimately using verbosity, eruditely underscoring post-modernistic virtual ideologies seems helpful when attempting to underscore postings on the Internet. Transilteration. Coginitive dissonance. Flimflammityflamboozle. Smart! Smart smart!! <- Rinse. Repeat. Fill up an entire page. *pop*

[MODERATOR NOTE: Just a friendly reminder, but everyone is welcome in every thread. Off-topic posts may be problematic, but never the people themselves.]

[Please keep in mind that personal attacks are okay in the Terrestrial Forum just so long as they occur within the normal ebb-and-flow of discussion. The only time personal attacks need to be moved to the Telestial Forum is when the opening post's purpose--i.e., the entire purpose of the thread itself--is to mount a personal attack.]

[That's incorrect. As has been noted, the moderation in the Terrestrial Forum is (ideally) minimal, but it's there nonetheless. It's the Telestial Forum which is essentially unmoderated, not here.]

I just want to state that I'm pleased Shades stepped in and split this thread and left it in terrestrial. That all posters are welcome here, and their voices not silenced, no matter how unpopular, is what I find compelling about this website.
There is no doubt friends that stick by each other, yet, to tell certain posters that their views should be relegated somewhere else seems to be antithetical to the stated purpose of this board.
I hope dart does stick around, and hope this thread being split was satisfactory to all. I'd also like to respectfully request (FOR THE 3rd TIME) that the OP (that this thread was split from) delete my name from it and references to me as I am not able to speak to the words JAK typed that referenced my participation in the prior thread.
This is a pleasant request and it has been ignored twice before. I don't see how mention of the other thread is how the OP started -- the OP specifically mentions MY participation in the other thread. I replied to the OP (my name and the previous thread was in the OP) and stated that I would remove my comments if the OP deleted mention of ME and the previous thread. This was NOT done and my comments about the other thread are then split off into off-topic. I asked Shades to intercede and look at the thread that this thread was split from and notice the bias in that my comments were removed, marg's were left to stay (her post did not deal with the OP and was mostly a praise of JAK), dart's responses were to marg who had already gone off-topic, and then Jersey Girl told dart his posts would be moved (by a mod -- or by other means).
I suggest that if we don't want prior threads resurrected in new threads there is a simple way to accomplish this. Don't put a reference to them in the OP.
I hope my request will be considered by the OP of the other thread. If not, I will just be left to wonder what the purpose was in leaving it in that mentions MY participation, MY name and that I'm not allowed to reply... and I will wonder on that........ and wonder some more........ and probably be left with the nagging suspicion that there is a lack of REAL concern with leaving a previous thread IN a previous thread.

Nowhere on this board did I tell dart that his posts would be moved by a moderator or by other means. Feel free to quote me.

With all due respect, Kevin, I don't think that you can state this conclusively unless you actually have some dealing with JAK in real life. We tend to take people at their word here regarding information they choose to reveal regarding education and careers. If a poster has stated that they teach, that they are an attorney, that they are an accountant, etc, we normally take them at their word.

Jersey Girl, here's what I wrote:

Apparently you enjoy making me quote things, and are a stickler. This is so much fun playing with you.
Let me rephrase:
Jersey Girl told dart she would ask a mod to move his posts, or she would handle it some other way. Better?
What you did was tell another poster that you desired his comments to be moved without addressing that marg was the FIRST to go off-topic and you didn't mention her. That's fine, although it's biased and I'm glad Shades saw the situation as it truly was.
and then Jersey Girl told dart his posts would be moved (by a mod -- or by other means).

by the way, Jersey Girl, are you completely ignoring my repeated requests to remove MY NAME and prior participation in another thread out of your op? I can't address it and yet it stands.
I am unclear why you can't just snip the comments in regards to me as I'm not allowed to address them. Why are they in the OP if I can't comment on them?

LOL When I quote this text I get see how much extra work goes into jazzing a post with special effects... So this makes me think of JAK as like Michael Bay and Marg as like a pimply thirteen year old who loves Transformers. Oops, ad hominen. My bad.

Yes, that's much better. I don't "like" making you quote things, I much prefer that you do it up front in order to avoid misrepresenting people, including myself. I didn't mention marg on the board. Here is a quote from my request to Shades:
I'm asking you
to relocate the personal attack off topic tit for tat from the "Dangers of Religion Reloaded" including my response to dart. Make that response(s) because I may post to him once more on that thread. His remarks have nothing to do with the topic, nor do marg's responses to them.
See? I'm not showing preference, Moniker. Just because you don't see a thing on the board doesn't mean that someone (me in this case) is exercizing bias in their requests. I am far more fair and concerned with mainting the integrity of the thread than you imagine. I also told Shades that if he chose not to move them, I wouldn't argue with him.
