Coggies, I thought DDT lost its effectiveness because the mosquitoes became resistant when it was used?
Yes, they did, primarily from improper and overuse. However, the aversion effect on them never ceased, and this is why, just last year, WHO supported the reinstitution of spraying, and why some African countries are simply defying the U.N. and its NGO ideologues and producing and spraying it anyway.
It works, and its the safest pesticide that ever been created. It was poured over concentration camp victims to kill lice at the end of WWII, with no ill effects. Indeed, it was
eaten by experimental subjects with no lasting ill effects in at least one test.
Its presence in groundwater, soil, and other areas was a consequence of the massive use of the chemical on large scale crops, a use for which it was not intended. It was suspected of thinning the egg shells of sea birds and raptors, but this was never demonstrated empirically (and, even if it had been, would the sacrifice of millions of
human beings to the lives of
birds been morally justifiable?).
The face of sin today often wears the mask of tolerance.
