I have always found that if one gives the whole of some ranting rambling BY spout from the JoD (and of course this is after the poor Limey sap who transcribed it had cleaned it up some) it greatly strengthens the critical point one is (usually, when quoting BY) trying to make.

Mark you that reduces the masochistic satisfaction which may reliably derived from the following pattern of exchange:

1. Post extract from JoD illustrating peculiar BY opinion.

2. TBM: "Hey! That's taken out of context!"

3. Post full context.

4. TBM "Um, the JoD isn't doctrine. And we never said the prophets were all perfect."

5. Skylla/Juliann "Take your hatefilled scum-spewings elsewhere NOW. You cannot come here and insult our prophets by quoting things they said!"

Who am I to tell the Church what is and is not doctrine?

But it is plain that many an antiMormon hope is dashed to learn that they don't know what LDS doctrine is.

What is "doctrine" other than teachings delivered over the pulpit by the Lord's mouthpieces when acting as such?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

1) When someone asks an answer then they are ready for an honest answer.

For me its not a questian of milk before meat.

The meat is what I call radioactive doctrine. Like plutonium, these doctrines if mishandled can lead to cancer; if they are handeled properly then they can be a source of TREMENDOUS ENERGY.

For example: "As man is God once was; as God is man may be".

Knowing, understanding and being converted to an understanding of the true nature of God and man can have a very positive effect on how you view God, other people and yourself. Once this principle is properly understood everything else makes perfect sense.

God is no longer viewed as this abstract "it" that can only be described in terms of what "it" is not; God is our Father and is just as personable and approachable as you and I are. He is soo great and powerful that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, submission to the laws and ordinances of the gospel and maybe a couple million years, He can turn the overweight, loser, porn adddict, never had a girl friend, Start Wars trivia champion into nothing less than a God. That is one powerful, loving and humble God.

Your next door neighbor is no longer the bum who refuses to cut his grass, but rather your eternal brother, a son of God, a potential God.

You are more than you can even understand at this moment. You to are a son/daughter of God, a potential God and the sibling of everyone you will ever meet during your mortal probation. This should positivly affect how you treat others and how you use your spare time.

However, if not properly understood this principle can prove to be cancerous as it can negativly affect our spiritual development.

It can negativly affect how we view God. Some might accuse Heavenly Father of once having been a sinner and thus have less respect for Him. Some might be turned off by the idea that God is mammalian. This can lead into a sacriligious lampooning of the eternal gospel and prevent that person from further progression. Some might confuse their own selfish, competitive and prideful nature with that of the Gods. They might be tempted to ask "Why don't we worship our Heavenly Great-Grand Father?" Some might be turned off by the tangentle possibilities of "celestial sex" and "celestial procreation" or even "celestial polygamy" and not want to reach the Celestial Kingdom. Believe it or not, but I have a friend that was so scared of these possibilities that she actually contemplated the idea of not wantingto enter the Celestial Kingdom.

It can adversly affect how we view others. We might give others to much respect than they deserve. There is a time for love and a time for hate. If two young people are on a date, and the young man decides to grope the young ladies breast the young lady should slap him across the face. It should make no difference whether that young man is a son of God or not. He deserves to get smacked.

It can adversly view how we view our selves.
Allow me to give the final illustration; I once watched an anti-movie and a former LDS, now evangelical described how this doctrine was, in his words, "intoxicating". He was intoxicated by the idea that he could become an all-powerful God. OOOOOO AAAAAAHHH.

Personally, I don't find this doctrine to be intoxicating at all. If anything I see it as damning. Here we are, the sons of God, possible heirs to Godhood itself and what do we many of us do on our spare time? Gossip, watch porn, waste 10 hours a week on the Play Station 3, making fun of Britney Spears, memorizing the Chris Rock jokes, wishing we were the Real HouseWives of New York, Facebook etc.

Some might be turned off by the idea that God is "mammalian". This can lead into a sacriligious lampooning of the eternal gospel and prevent that person from further progression.
Some might ignoranlt assume their own selfish, competitive and prideful nature is shared by the Gods. They might be tempted to ask "Why don't we worship our Heavenly Great-Grand Father?" Believe it or not, but I have a friend that was so scared of these possibilities that she actually contemplated the idea of not wantingto enter the Celestial Kingdom. Now I don't want to get on a tangent of whether her concerns were doctrinal or not; but I do want to note that such knowledge can cause us to look beyond the mark.
