Sorry for derailing...
Yeah, definitely not bad! Not sure where you live, but where do you work out? I go to the golds in american fork almost every weekday morning 6am.
Looks like you could give me a few tips! I concentrate on weightlifting/bulking (i don't do much cardio) but it's slow going. I've always had trouble gaining weight. I eat a lot, do about 3 protein shakes a day, and do creatine off and on. Do you use any supplements?
Huge arms man!

Hi Who Knows,
I live in the Puget Sound area. My visits to the gym are very therapeutic. I try to go at least every other day—you can never get too much therapy!
At 6'3" and 220 lb., my weight is fairly evenly distributed. I turn 50 on my next b-day and my gym therapy helps me keep up with a very active 12-year-old son. (The only supplement that I've tried is creatine, which I took for about six months in the late '90s.)
My best,

Hi Will,
Given that we've evidently entered a cyber-forum wormhole that's catapulted us from December 2007 to May 2008, I would have thought that you also had "decided to just forget about this discussion."
In any event, as I previously noted:
As I approach publication, my hesitation increases—for numerous reasons. In short, no spoilers allowed.
And, no, I don't agree with your armchair assessment of the textual history of Abr. 1:12; and I can't imagine that Brian Hauglid (et al.) would concur with your assessment either.
My best,
</brent>

Hey Brent,
So, when is your book going to be available to those of us who have been very impatiently awaiting the event?
;-)

Brent:
No. I’ve just become more patient as I age. And, lest we forget, you were the one who assured us:
My development of virtue notwithstanding, you've been a long time gone.
I see.
Well, whether your own extensive credentials qualify you to “imagine” it or not, I suppose the “no spoilers allowed” rule applies equally here. ;-)
In any event, we all look forward to the (hopefully) imminent publication of Joseph Smith’s Book of Abraham: History, Sources, Authorship. In the immortal words of David Crosby, it’s been a long time coming.

I've prepped photographs that relate to the early textual history of Abraham 1:12 for online display, but helping my son with a school project absorbed the remainder of the evening (read: my rejoinder will be delayed a few more days).
Thanks for your patience.

I'm also dying to know when I can expect it, so, Brent, if you happen to peek in, please throw us a freakin bone here.

Hi truth dancer and TrashcanMan79,
Thanks for your inquiries.
My domestic and professional commitments take priority over unsalaried avocations. As much as I'd like to share my insights sooner than later, later is more likely.
Hi Will,
"[E]xtensive credentials"? Well, when you've garnered a few of your own, perhaps we'll have something meaningful to discuss.
As for whether you speak for Brian Hauglid or not, a leitmotif of Brian's personal email messages is that you most certainly do not.
Best wishes,
</brent>

Well, I have never once suggested that I speak for Professor Hauglid. Brian certainly speaks for himself in all matters. That said, Brian agrees entirely with my analysis as articulated in this particular thread, as once again confirmed in a conversation just this afternoon: The text of Abr. 1:12 in KEPA #2 manifests a later interlineal insertion.
I will shortly initiate a thread in the “School of the Pundits” forum of the MAD board to continue this topic. Professor Hauglid has indicated he just may drop in for a visit. You are certainly invited to do likewise.
