Yes...Indy this weekend. I can't wait. I hope the old Dr. Jones can still kick some damned ass.

I saw the new Indy movie Thursday night. I was a bit disappointed, really. I wish I could say I weren't.

I anxiously await your review of it, SK, if you post one on your blog.

I enjoyed the Indiana Jones movie, but it definitely required suspension of disbelief. Most of the action scenes were pretty implausible. I found myself wishing that they hadn't included the vine-swinging scene-- or, for that matter, aliens.

Oh! No! Aliens! Oh dear! Well, I wanted to see it, I suppose I still do. I loved the Indiana Jones movies as a child and I had every intention of going to see this one. Perhaps I'll wait for it to come out on DVD.

I saw a preview for the new Hulk movie and was surprised that they were doing another one so soon after releasing one just a few years ago. I'm fairly certain my son will insist on seeing it at some point. We have a drive in theatre fairly near by and maybe we can go see it there so I can zone out and read while he is entertained. :)

Too true. I think I liked Prince Caspian better.

Can't wait for the Dark Knight.

You kids just have no appreciation for Indy. ;)

Yes, it's campy. Yes, you have to suspend belief in reality. IT'S AN INDIANA JONES MOVIE!!!!

I loved it! It was a great homage to "Raiders of the Lost Arc", which was my favorite of the original three.

(Spoiler Alert)

I love the fact that Marion is back, and that she and Indy FINALLY get together for good this time! :)

Edited to add---

My two favorite quotes from the movie:

Indy: I have a bad feeling about this... (a wink to George Lucas and "Star Wars")

and

Marion: I suppose you've had your share of women over the years.

Indy: There were a few. But they all had one thing in common that was wrong with them.

Marion: What was that?

Indy: They weren't you, baby.

*sigh* Yes, I'm a hopeless romantic.

This is definitely an "Indiana Jones" DVD I will own when it comes out.

The Indiana Jones Movie was fun and fast. KA may not have liked it and yea I wished it was rooted in something earthly and not alien but it was still great. I had fun over the past two weeks renting all three of the first ones and watching them with my 13 year old daughter. Then we went to see the new one last night.

I think my favorite line was from number three, just after Donovan drinks from the wrong cup, rapidly grows old and dies a grisley death the protector knight says "He choose...poorly."

But there are so many great lines from these movies. And Yea Liz I liked the romantic lines you posted above as well.

I did the same thing with my two oldest daughters! We watched the first three movies, then went and saw the new one. My oldest two daughters are eleven and thirteen, and they liked the new Indy movie a lot. Like CK, I hated the vine/monkey "army" scene. And the movie was so predicable! I could see everything coming a mile away. It was fun, and I don't regret seeing it, but still, not as good as I hoped it would be.

So just between us girls, Liz, how does Harrison Ford hold up under the scrutiny of time? Does he still have it?

Yes. He sure doesn't look like a senior citizen. He will be counted among the hotties in the hereafter.

In retrospect the movie was quite good, the problem was that the first 3 were just excellent movies, and this one seemed just a step below. Of course it had a predictable plot, but I think I'll end up liking it more than Temple of Doom, but no way does it rank higher than Raiders or Last Crusade. Sorry.
