I Got This Weird Headache

You know how when you're blowing up a lot of balloons and you get a killer headache? Well, I got that, only I haven't been blowing up any balloons. Wonder what it is...?

Everyone I work with has been assuring me in Austrian accents that, "it's not a too-mohr," but it definitely does kinda freak me out a little, especially since I'm not prone to headaches. Been going on for like 6 hours now. I need to go to sick call....

I looked this up in my up-to-date medical texts and found how the three methods of doctoring (herbs, leeches, sawing it off) apply to headaches.

Step 1: Ingest wolfsbane in case it is lycanthropy. Eat lots and lots of garlic to rebalance your humors. If this fails, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Apply a leech under each eyelid and on each temple. Breathe normally. If this does not cleanse you of the bad blood proceed to step 3.
Step 3: Saw off your head. Pain will subside within 10 minutes or your money will be refunded for this medical text.

Six hours is an awfully long time to have a headache, T-man. Did you take an NSAID for it---e.g., ibuprofen or aspirin? Also, which part of your head is afflicted?

I haven't. I should, but I'm at work and none of my co-workers have any for me to bum. And I'm in the military, so asking to leave to go get aspirin is akin to self-affixing a giant "kick me" sign to my backside. But since it's a dull-throbbing as opposed to a sharp pain, I think I can tough out the last hour of work.

Also, which part of your head is afflicted?

It's both sides of my head, right above and behind the ears.

It sounds like it could be a migraine. Are you sick to your stomach? Has your vision been affected? You need to be seen by someone ASAP, and your blood pressure needs to be taken. It could also be related to a spike or drop in blood pressure.

How's your water intake and have you been drinking anything with caffeine in it?
