Chevy once again shows how it's done: Corvette ZR-1
My girlfriend saw me drooling over this, bopped me with a rolled up magazine and yelled "NO! Bad Angus!"
Legend has it a few years ago General motors Chairman Rick Wagoner was so impressed with the then $65,500 Corvette Z06 that he remarked "I wonder what they could do for $100,000..."
Chevy's engineers took him seriously and the Blue Devil project started. Blue Devil became the Corvette ZR-1, powered by the supercharged 6.2 liter (378ci) V8 LS9 engine (basically a performance tuned LS-3), pushing out a rather jaw dropping 638bhp and 604ft-lbs of torque. Improving further over the Z06 they used the same carbon ceramic brakes from the Ferrari FXX on the front and the front brakes of the Ferrari Enzo on the rear, a new active magnetic suspension control system to improve off the line accelleration and cornering, replaced most of the body paneling with carbon fiber panels, a new gear set for the transmission (in the ZR-1 sixth gear isn't an overdrive gear for fuel economy when cruising, it's there for pushing the ZR-1 past 220mph), and 19" front/20" rear Michelin PS2 tires.
Daddy wants, but Daddy is having a real hard time justifying it....

New body mustangs are nice to look at and I'm sure one with over 600bhp would be neat on a quarter-mile track....
But the ZR-1 is faster, and unlike the GT-500, it can handle turns at speeds that'd make the GT-500 spin out. There's a reason Ford doesn't even really bother to take any of the new mustangs to Nurburgring.

Here’s an old vid of my friend dyno-testing his Ford Focus. It's more suped up now.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Ford-Focus-455-hp-dyno-at_2701.htm
It runs a 1/4 in the 11.2s at 129mph. Once they get the traction issues finally figured out (it spins out through the first three gears, and can even spin out going 80 on the highway), it should run it in the 10s (the fancy-schmancy Corvette in the OP runs it in 11.3 at 131mph -- a Ferrari Enzo run does about 11.1 at 133mph). The greatest thing about it is that it's so unassuming, so it tends to castrate testosterone a$$es when he leaves their sports cars in the dust.

Considering that a stock Z06 Vette is capible of 10.85@129.5mph (Here's the vid) and that Chevy hasn't even posted any 1/4 mile times for the ZR-1 yet, I find that claim a little dubious. Never mind that you're also talking about a much lighter car that's had god knows what done to it to get 455bhp vs a bone stock production car.
Also, how much did your "buddy" spend to get a Focus to do that? because I'm betting he sank at least the cost of the basic vehicle into just engine and transmission to do it.
Edit: And that vid is grainy as hell. Get your "buddy" to post a clear sheet.

I just took the information from the second website that matched my results while looking for the stats. Sorry if they're inacurate. Maybe the ZR-1 has less torque. Or maybe the "autoblog" is wrong (I don't know how "realiable" they are as I'm not into cars that much).
The ZR1 is a 638-hp supercar that can reach 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, run the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds at 131 mph (!) and top out at 205 mph, all while returning 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.

And here I thought I was talking about a much heavier car that has had nothing done to it vs. a non-bone-stock-production car. [end sarcasm]

I have no idea how much they spent (it was a joint venture with his dad). I wouldn't be surprised if in the end it was 2-3 times the cost of the car. What's the deal with "buddy" in quotes?

Really, what’s up with the “buddy” in quotes? I assume you're trying to imply that I'm making stuff up in order to look cool? I gave up trying to appear cool long ago... mostly due to my small testicles.

Also, I drove a 1974 Camaro when I was in high school. It was really fast. I think it had a four-barrel carburetor or something like that. I don't even know what that means. It didn't help me get the bitches, but it did help with my perception of the size of my testes. Large balls.

Brilliant.
I drove a ’84 LTD Ford (four door) for Junior year. Then I ended up with a ’76 Corolla. Small balls.
Many a day I wished for the ethereal Elephantitis of the LTD Ford to return so I could have perceived virility.

I just thought of something that I think might be funny:
Biggie Smalls balls.
Here's a picture of the car I drove at BYU when I got home from my mission, only mine was red:

This car wasn't fast. I think it had a 1.3 liter engine, whatever that means. Actually, what it means is that it was as slow as an old pair of balls. Tiny balls.

Nice. Here's a pic of the type of Corolla I was rolling in (it was actually this same color).

Usually one of the spark plugs would pop out (the seal leaked), so I normally only had 3 cylinders running. Petite tripod balls.
