Take a good look at this:

Do NOT buy this product. This is the cheap white that I referred to as "shoe polish".

The link for the strips image that I tried to post won't work.

I'll ask a question instead. If I have the little jewels to make a "Ho toe" ;-) and want to put them on my French Manicure (which I fully intend to master) should I do ALL nails or just one and if one, which one?

A brief update. Since my last post on this terribly important thread, I perfected the French Manicure (I'm totally lying) using tip guides by Orly and have moved on to perfecting the American Manicure that is a more natural looking version of the French Manicure.

If you want a more natural tip color, try Essie Marshmallow. You need at least 2 coats.

Without a doubt the best thing to come from this journey is this:

Get this top coat. Don't tell me you already have a top coat. Get in the car, go to your nearest beauty supply store and just buy it. You need this more than you could possibly know.

Beauty Brands has it on sale HALF PRICE.

Get it. Get it yesterday.

I mean like NOW. (I am not lying)

The only attention I give to my nails is biting them short once a week, so I have to ask, what is the
difference between a French manicure and and a regular one?

Hi, Moksha.

A French manicure looks like this:

I usually have a French manicure, but I like the white tip a little shorter than the nails in the pic.

I thought I made that clear as mud in a previous post:

the American Manicure that is a more natural looking version of the French Manicure.

Do you see the French Manicure example that KA supplied? In the American Manicure, the tips would be a more natural looking white than the bright white of the French.

This website shows the French and American for comparison:

And then there is the reverse French Manicure which I plan never to attempt.

KA,

Do you have them done in a shop or do it yourself? If you do it yourself, what technique works best for you? Also, do you FM your toes? Like you, I prefer a more conservative FM with the tips shorter than in the pic you posted.

I've never attempted it myself.

I go to a salon, which is a nice treat I don't think I'm willing to give up unless absolutely necessary!

Besides, my manicurist is a Vietnamese fella named Tyler. He speaks with a heavy accent, and says he was born in Vietnam, so I doubt that's his real name. Anyway, he's very funny, and sings loudly, "Here she come, Mriss Amrewica..." to me every time I come in the door. Cracks me up, and earns him a good tip. ;)

I don't get a French manicure on my toenails. I always have them painted red. And Tyler puts the flower on my Ho Toe.

I'm worse than that. I haven't cut my nails with clippers in....years/ever.
