Is a dislocated hip equivalent to a broken leg? I don't think that your comment is correct.

Whether he dislocated his leg or broke it, I think the meaning of the passage is relatively unchanged.

I agree but you're the one who wrote "break your leg". In this passage, Jacob wrestled with God and his character was changed. What do you object to in the passage. Do you think that God, if He exists, would not be concerned with men? Is the wrestling story too prosaic for your tastes? Or it something else?

I don't "object" to the passage for the same reason I don't object to Harry Potter. It is fiction. There is nothing to object to. The point is, there is no reason to believe God had anything to do with this book. At all.
