Was that Christian Bale? I thought Napoleon Dynamite was playing Batman.

Very nicely put. This was mine:

When I got older I loved the first two Tim Burton movies, and even the third one by Joel Schumacher was decent. The other one is the one we do not speak of... Though that whole franchise paled in comparison to the animated series of the 90s.

I did not like the Christian Bale gravelly Batman voice either, but only because I'm so used to Kevin Conroy's voice behind Batman. They wanted him to use different voices for Batman and Bruce Wayne as Conroy had, and he did his best I think.

I used to love the animated series as well. Totally enjoyed that Jokergirl, whatever her name was.

I'm with you about the first four movies. 1 and 2 excellent, 3 was decent and 4 we shall not speak about [kinda like how we ignore Rocky 5].

Yeah. I have a soft spot for karate fighting gals. Didn't the Joker spurn her at some point?

My daughter Harley isn't named after a motorcycle. ;)

Didn't the Joker spurn her at some point?

In all continuities, yes. They have a destructive relationship cycle where he keeps kicking her out/trying to kill her, then eventually starts to miss her and they reconcile. Usually their break-ups resulted in really hilarious and fun team-ups between Harley and Poison Ivy. In the cartoon series, Joker is killed by the Tim Drake Robin (sort of) and she winds up moving on with her life and apparently having children and grandchildren. Last she was seen in the current comics, I believe she has definitively split from the Joker and has undergone some level of reform, including training with the Amazons on the island of Themiscyra.

The entire Harley Quinn "Mad Love" episode from the animated series is on YouTube. Yay for Batman nerdery!

Odds of her becoming a motorcycle chick 3/1

Ah that's right. I loved that show, although they never used the Riddler enough. I've never been a Robin fan, I always get distracted when he [inevitably] falls into the clutches of a villian and has to be saved by Batman. You'd think Batman would get tired of saving that little bastard.

LOL - Found an article on HuffPo discussing Bale's irritating Batman voice. I know I've bitched about it, and I think Bond did too in his blog. Check it!

I'm killing time at the airport so I thought I would comment on Batman since I finally saw it on Friday night.

Good movie! :).

********Spoiler Alert******

I think that Rachel will show up alive in the next movie morphed into Catwoman. ;)

I totally loved Batman and I'm not much for that kind of thing (Spiderman and the like essentially bores me). Heath Ledger's performance was exceptional in every way possible. I'm always fascinated by actors who can convincingly pull off psychotic and he did it seamlessly.
