Neworder,

I love that Mosters and Angels song, I haven't heard that in a long time ! I remember when I first heard it, I was on my mission and it got popular when I was about a year out. Thanks for posting that.

Reminds me that about that same time T'pau had another song I really enjoyed:

Ahh yes, "I Feel Love." One of the most oft-covered songs of all time.

I'm of the opinion that covers can be (and often are) superior to the original. Have a look & listen to these two versions and tell me if you think either are superior, and if so, which one you think is best:

I Feel Love - The Curve's version

I Feel Love - Dallas Superstars' version

BC,

You posted that Peter Gabriel song. That guy is insanely talented. I read an interview with his Bass player, and he was saying how Peter can write and create pop music anytime he wants, but that he intentionally will do something to "mature" a piece of music so that it wont be seen as pop.

he said "I have always noticed that if a piece sounds quite "accessible" or "radio friendly", Peter would change it ! All his music is well thought out and well crafted, but if he thought people might think he was "trying to have a hit", or even a single, he would alter it."

He said that "Sledgehammer" wasn't originally recorded for inclusion on So at all.

"What happened with "Sledgehammer", I believe, is that it was tagged on the end of the sessions - not really to be on So, but on a future album. We recorded it on the last night of the sessions. So, my theory is, that when they decided to use it on the album, even though it was pretty radio friendly, Peter didn't have time to change it!"

Big Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0FBi5Rv1ho

Love Peter Gabriel.
