Maybe Elfman is perfunctorily phoning it in here (not in some sequences, though). And the title sequence is really lame.
But, forget the naysayers: bracket the ultimate scene if you wish. It's still a really good sci-fi movie.
EDIT: Baker's costumes are phenomenal.
