Yeah, on SDN I go by the SN "Mr. Coffee". Here I use the name Angus McAWESOME. I also use Angus for my EVE Online account (fun game, try it sometime). I don't know who this board's "Mr. Coffee" is, but a quick google search for terms "Mr. Coffee Message Board" shows you that "Mr. Coffee" isn't even remotely a unique user name. Wouldn't be the first time I've come across someone else using Mr. Coffee as a screen name, in fact the commonality of it is why I've gone to using Angus McAWESOME as a screen name so I don't have to use "Mr. Coffee1011928A" as a screen name.

Also, you read my posting history on SDN you'll notice that I'm an open bisexual, never once made mention of ever having served in the US Armed Forces in any capacity, and I rant a lot about my experiences working in the flooring industry.

Not sure who you are, Pumblehoober, but you obviously have issues with this Mr. Coffee person on this board, but I am not that guy.

Angus,

Just for the written record here, I don't care who you are, who you might have been on this board, any other board or whether you're an open or closed Bi. I typically find your posts intelligent, humorous and a good read.

And that's what matters to me.

A few posters here immediately thought Angus was Mr. Coffee and I even received PMs with warnings to be careful. :)

I thought it was Coffee, too. I still sort of do.

To me, though, it doesn't really matter. Like I said before, I don't really care what people post or what they do on the internet if they don't become really aggressive or it moves into the real world.

Always, Angus. You don't become entrenched in the personal vendettas as others do here. I like your posts and I like your online personality.

If you happen to be our former Mr. Coffee, I say everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance if they want to participate.

It's the creepy stalkers I am opposed to.

Yeah, the cyber-stalkers and people that take what they read oin the internet so serious that they try to take real world actions about it kind of scare me. It's the internet and it is NOT serious business despite what the LOLcat posters say.

For example, I buddy of mine in EVE is a member of this massive in-game corporation. Turns out one of his corp mates managed to infiltrate a rival corp far enough that he had access to their corp hanger and corp wallet. Guy turns around and in a single night steals about 10billion worth of in-game currency, ships, and equipment. The owners of the in-game corp that he raided are now trying to get a lawyer to try and sue the guy. While part of me can understand that a 10bil in-game hit can hurt, it's still jsut a game and trying to sue someone over it is just plain silly.

Ok, I think I just nerded out pretty hard there.

I was watching the debate at Saddleback Church and what has always amazed me and made me sick is how some Americans seem to think America is the centre of the earth. Patriotism can be good but taken to the length of this election seems very tacky. Here is a nation that in times past has built part of its economy on the backs of slaves, later segregated these people, hung them from trees and it needed a Civil Rights movement to get these people basic rights. America has interfered in the Governments of a number of nations (even democratically elected ones) because it was in their economic interests. You are now debating the election of Obama, your first possible black president and yet media like Fox go on and on about such trivial issues, is he a Moslem etc etc.

To a certain extend that is the the case. While we aren't the center of the world, we are central to the sooth and profitable operation of the global economy. While some of our actions as a nation might be a little borked (some of them qualify as outright insane), we generally end up doing more good then harm in the long run.

Well, for nations we like at least.

Aussieguy, I'm going to say this assuming by your name that you're Australian (correct me if I'm wrong on that)...

When Australia at least catches up to the Unites States of the 1960s in terms of civil rights in regards to your nation's treatment of the Aboriginals, then you may speak about our treatment of minorities. Until then, it'd be a good idea not to say anything on that subject.

We're not even remotely the only ones that do that or even close to being the first to do it, Aussieguy. In fact, isn't Australia currently involved in meddling in the affairs of other nations in places like East Timor? Granted, baring the old Soviet Union, no one does it to the shear scale we do, but the point remains that every nation that is capable of influencing other nations for their own gain will do so. it's a central fact of international politics.

See, the irony of this is that no one gets the inherent racism of making such a big deal about Senator Obama's skin color. If we lived in a society that was actually free of racism then his ethnicity shouldn't even be an issue at all.
