Interesting and completely unverifiable theory, antishock8.

Why then are there a number of conservatives who are concerned about her? Are they concerned because they are secret leftists? Like Chuck Hagel? David Frum (former Bush speechwriter and conservative columnist)? Mike Murphy (former senior advisor to McCain)?

Maybe the reason she is an easy target is because she appears to have questionable competence.

It's definitely just an opinion, Trevor. I have no idea statistically how many Conservatives don't support Sarah Palin as a pick, nor do I know how many Liberals will cross over since Hillary wasn't nominated.

What I do know is she gave John McCain a bit of a bump, and anecdotally the Conservatives I work and associate with are galvanized by her... Which means, in real terms, the white religious vote has been sparked. She's going to herd in the pro-lifers, the gun owners, the joe six-packers, the white church goers, probably snag some feminists and Hillary supporters, and most importantly win John McCain Alaska in the electoral college.

It's embarrassing to me when I have to point out humor to obviously intelligent people. So I'm not going to do it.

Well, I clearly sympathize with elitist Republicans, so I wouldn't know or understand these people whom Palin has galvanized. Wait. There is my mother. Truly she has a side I do not understand. Perhaps it is somewhere in the vicinity of that side of her that keeps her active in the LDS Church. My dad's only comment was that Palin (whom he will vote for because he fears "60s-radical Obama" every bit as much as Kevin does) will certainly shake things up. Everyone has their reasons, I suppose.

So true. I need to shut my communist yap and get in line with those news busters. They totally bust the news!

They are all up in Fox's grill.

Those three votes from Alaska are fundamental to any presidential campaign. As the old saying goes, "As goes Alaska, goes the election."

Have you ever heard that old tale about "the boy who cried wolf"?

Speaking of media bias, if anyone understands it, it would be Palin, who studied journalism in college. Given her interest in that area, I think her opinions on what we might read to get a good side of the story are illustrative:

Couric: What newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?

Palin: I've read most of them, again, with a great appreciation for the press, for the media...

Couric: Like what one's specifically, I'm curious, that you've...

Palin: Um, all of 'em, any of 'em that have been in front of me over all these years, I have a...

Couric: Can you name any of them?

Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news too...Alaska isn't a foreign country where it's kinda suggested, it seems like, 'wow, how could you keep in touch with the rest of....Washington D.C. may be thinking and doing when you live up there in Alaska.'

Perish the very thought.
