I have been watching the Youtube series of Guns, Germs and Steel. No farm animals were not part of the culture and when the Spaniards came, they decimated the local population . Anyway watch these series yourself.
No history of contacts with animals - no exchange between lamas and people.
Domestic animals, germs killer disease developed. 10,000 years of contact with domestic animals. Made them resiliant.

One flaw in your reasoning though - resistance is specific to the disease, so diseases evolved in Europe would have still decimated the Amerinds, even if they did have domesticated animals. If they had have had domestic animals, maybe they would have had more diseases to give back to the Spaniards!
Got me thinking though, the Jaredites had, and ate swine. (Ether 9:18). Did they not get given the Mosaic Law? and if not, why not since it was so important that the Nephites had to follow it even though they knew Christ was coming. And then, as pigs were not native, any domesticates would have all died off during the periods when everyone was behaving themselves - no pig survived anayway. So why do the Nephites know what a swine is in 3 Nephi 14:6? Jesus should have loanshifted to an American unclean animal.

Moses did post-date the Jaredites.
Yes, that is the interesting thing! Various prophets arose among the Jaredites to call them to repentance - but for what? Abraham was approx 300 years after the tower of Babel. And Moses roughly l000yrs. Leaving about Six hundred years before they Wiped themselves out.
If mosaic law was important enough for Moroni to insist on emphasizing it; Why is there no record of the Jaredites being included in Abrahams covenant, and receiving the law of Moses.
