The Road to Obamadom

Post by _Droopy »

"Is Acorn Stealing the Election?"

That's the title of this Investors Business Daily editorial:

The group's voter-registration fraud is rampant, and authorities plan a nationwide sweep of ACORN offices to collect records. ...

In North Carolina, where Obama has been running nonstop ads, ACORN has registered a record number of new voters, many of them suspicious. Statewide, Democrats are doing better than the GOP in new converts — even in traditionally Republican counties. There have been 218,749 newly registered Democrats in North Carolina since January — more than five times the 38,337 new Republicans, state records show. ...

Suspicious election officials sent letters to some 5,000 ACORN registrants in St. Louis, asking the letter recipients to contact them. Fewer than 40 responded.

In Kansas City, 15,000 registrations have been questioned, and last year four ACORN employees were indicted for fraud.

In addition, ACORN officials have also been indicted in Wisconsin and Colorado. Investigations against others are active in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
ACORN has also been registering convicted felons — including inmates — in Florida and other battleground states.

ACORN boasts registering a record 1.5 million new voters so far this election.

It is reasonable to ask whether ACORN is in fact a criminal conspiracy to subvert the voting rights of Americans. Which makes it all the more remarkable that Barack Obama paid ACORN $800,000 to register new voters, and then lied about it, falsely telling the Federal Elections Commission that the $800,000 went to a group called Citizen Services Inc. for "advance work."

Today John McCain addressed ACORN's increasingly problematic role in the campaign at a rally in Wisconsin, one of the states in which dozens of ACORN employees are under criminal investigation:

They're not going to make the same mistake Al Gore made when he tried to steal the 2000 election by litigating himself into office. These people are going to start counting dimpled chads before the election even begins.

Oh, by the way, ACORN is another one of Obama's old associations he just "crossed paths" with in his callow youth.

I can't decide whether your thread or Bcspace's thread contains the most mudslinging. Things must be getting desperate for McCain. Political dynamiting may well backfire.

by the way, you forgot to mention that Obama's sister was a famous thespian. That has worked well in the South before.

Just exactly how corrupt does Obama need to be for you to start paying attention moksha? Stop making excuses and use your brain. Even CNN has admitted Obama paid ACORN over $800,000 and that his ties with the group and more substantial than he led us to believe.

Help me out with your reasoning here.

Fact 1: Obama paid ACORN to fund a get out to vote program.
Fact 2: A few people at ACORN committed voter fraud.

Therefore Obama is corrupt.

Is that basically it?

Hehe... nicely put.

Fact 1: I pay my taxes.
Fact 2: Taxes help fund the war, bail out Wall Street, and pay the guys who work for the IRS.

Therefore, I'm a war monger, am all for paying for Wall Street's mistakes, and love getting audited.

Come on, use your brain! It makes perfect sense, doncha know!

Moksha...how are matters of historical record "mudslinging"? How are clear matters that any educated individual with access to either a well stocked public library, college library, or home computer could with some effort easily apprise him or herself of "mudslinging"?

Obama is who he is and he has said and done what he has said and done. His associations are a matter of history and his beliefs now a matter of record (to the degree we are able to dig into his perennially unavailable past). The same is true regarding McCain. We make our decisions upon this basis.

McCain is, at best, a marginal conservative. McCain/Feingold is an abomination; an attack on the first amendment I never thought I'd live to see coming from the Republican Party in my lifetime. However, as a choice between two evils, McCain appears as juvenile delinquency as compared to what Obama, with the Fabianesque socialist Democrat party lead by leading Progressive Caucus member Nancy Pelosi, could potentially do to this country on both domestic and national security fronts.

If that is what you want, then fine. Vote for Obama. McCain is no Reagan, no Forbes, no Keys, and no classical liberal. He is at least, however, someone who will give the country some breathing room until a seriously reforminst candidate who actually believes in the Constitution and Declaration can be found, and who will, I'm pretty sure, take the appropriate steps to defend America and its interests abroad from global jihadism, as well as from Russian, Chinese, and North Korean aggression, which Obama has, for all intents and purposes, already signaled to our enemies he has no intention of doing.

Obama is a recklessly naïve and uninformed ideologue, combining the worst aspects of Jimmy Carter and George McGovern with something a bit more sinister, as his long term friendships and mentoring relationships with some of the most malignant human beings in modern American political history imply.

I'm sorry. Why are taxpayers subsidizing the Democratic Party's efforts to harangue people into voting for them? I mean, I don't see why we should go further into debt to pay some guy to get people in Detroit to register and vote Democrat.

What the hell?

I coulda swore Democrats were griping about not having enough money to rebuild our infrastructure, but they're willing to slush fund ACORN so they can get elected into offic?

Oh, and by the way, Analytics... A few votes? C'mon. How many states are now involved in ACORN voter fraud investigations? This is more than a few votes.

"A few people"? ACORN is the oldest, largest, and one of the most aggressive leftist poverty rights groups in the country. The terms "voter fraud" and ACORN are synonymous, and members of the group are under investigation (and some have indeed done time even as we speak) for a longstanding and ongoing pattern of voter fraud in a number of states.

Albert Gore brought this internal corruption, endemic, it seems, within the modern Democratic Party, to prominence in 2000. ACORN works on the state and local level, but with the very same means justifies the ends mentality

The salient point really is that ACORN represents the extreme left of the political spectrum in both ideology and tactics, and this, yet again, seems to be where Obama has positioned himself politically by historical association. There's nothing even remotely center/left (except in the rhetoric he uses for public consumption) about Obama; he's a dyed in the wool leftist/socialist and his entire known political history mirrors this reality.

If that's what you want, then fine, come clean about it, but let's stop with the butt covering. This man is nowhere near the political American mainstream (although he is - precisely to the point - well withing the Democratic party ideological mainstream).
