Re: The Road to Obamadom
Well, if the Democrats did win as the result of an inaccurate vote count, that would make them even for what happened in 2000, wouldn't it?

The face of Obama today often wears the mask of Marx.
Don't you mean to say, "The face of Marx today often wears the mask of Obama"?

Re: The Road to Obamadom
Help me out with your reasoning here.
Fact 1: Obama paid ACORN to fund a get out to vote program.
Fact 2: A few people at ACORN committed voter fraud.
Therefore Obama is corrupt.
Is that basically it?
It is far more dimensional than that. Obama was an attorney for ACORN and he was instrumental in its corporate shakedown agenda. He also "trained" ACORN employees. He also used this experience he chose to call "community organizing" to further his bid for the Presidency. According to CNN's Lou Dobbs,
new evidence tonight that the Obama campaign is substantially connected to ACORN, despite disavows from both ACORN and the Obama campaign. And new questions tonight as well about just how much money ACORN receives from the federal government.
Why are they lying about their connection unless there is something to hide? Obama is just one of many political products of ACORN. There is plenty of payback to be given, and Obama hasn't forgotten his roots. Just imagine how much money and favors he will be giving it as President. ACORN is an umbrella organization that has its fingers in the money plate of dozens of agencies funded by the government. This web of questionable bureaucracies is the trademark of a Democrat run government. It is how they funnel money, legally or illegally, under the radar of an unsuspecting public.
Perhaps the best article detailing the problems with ACORN is by Stanely Kurtz: http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ND ... EyMjE0ODI=
But ACORN is only the tip of the iceberg. A cursory examination of Obama's past and political upbringing illustrates connections to far left radicals of the worst kind, and his excuses as to how and why he knows them insults the intelligences of the masses. Rezko, Wright, Ayers, etc.

This is either a unambiguous lie or a statement representing the grossest forms of willful ignorance. This is not a personal attack, simply an observation of the conditions at hand.
The only thing that happened in 2000 of any real consequence is that Al Gore used an unusually close election as a pretext for an attempt to litigate himself into office through a highly coordinated attempt at a scheme of carefully targeted voter fraud (targeting for his recounts only districts heavily weighted to the Democratic side) combined with an attempt to move the goal posts regarding long standing electoral rules through the courts. The highly partisan Florida Supreme Court allowed his game to go on by overruling some of Florida's election laws (to the dismay of the Chief Justice of that court, a liberal Democrat who wrote a blistering response his own court's politicized meddling in a close election).
The game ended when the Supreme Court put a stop to it. After that, several other entities did their own recounts, including three or four major dailies (there were six or seven recounts total, I believe, including the L.A. Times, Washington Post, New York Times, and the Atlanta Journal and Constitution).
With each recount, Bush pulled ever farther ahead, so there was, obviously, no point in continuing.
Its not at all shocking that Schmo, Moksha, and some others here, normally identified with the most extreme fringe positions on political and social issues possible, support the Moveon.Org, Michael Moore, Daily Kos version of events in the 2000 election, and retreat from substantive knowledge of the issue.

Well, you could put it that way, but I don't think Rev.Wright would appreciate the interracial connotations either way.

Obama was an attorney for ACORN and he was instrumental in its corporate shakedown agenda.
For those of you who don't understand what the "corporate shakedown agenda" mentioned here means, the "community organizing" movement of which Obama was a part and within which ACORN lived its political life was a special interest rent seeking operation that sought to move taxpayer money toward various initiatives in the inner city run or mediated by government agencies or by private interest groups like ACORN.
It was nothing more than a pretext for the expansion of the welfare state at the expense of its primary victims, the poor, and for the political benefit of people like Obama, who's political agenda and ambitions were promoted by directing government largess and corporate tribute (on pain of the cry of "racism!") towards the grateful masses.

Jesse Jackson built his political career in the same way, in the same place, using very much the same tactics and methods.

Why are they lying about their connection unless there is something to hide?
So here is what we have:
1- Obama gave some money to ACORN
2- Obama once did some legal work for them
3- Lou Dobbs says there is "new evidence" that Obama is "substantially" connected to ACORN
4- ACORN and Obama deny the alleged connection
5- A few ACORN people engaged in fraud
6- Some Republicans really, really hate ACORN
Therefore...
A- Obama is lying about his connection to ACORN
B- Obama has something to hide
C- Obama is corrupt
D- And that's just the tip of the iceburg

Re: The Road to Obamadom
IS ACORN STEALING THE ELECTION?"
By John Hinderaker
That's the title of this Investors Business Daily editorial:
The group's voter-registration fraud is rampant, and authorities plan a nationwide sweep of ACORN offices to collect records. ...
In North Carolina, where Obama has been running nonstop ads, ACORN has registered a record number of new voters, many of them suspicious. Statewide, Democrats are doing better than the GOP in new converts — even in traditionally Republican counties. There have been 218,749 newly registered Democrats in North Carolina since January — more than five times the 38,337 new Republicans, state records show. ...
Suspicious election officials sent letters to some 5,000 ACORN registrants in St. Louis, asking the letter recipients to contact them. Fewer than 40 responded.
In Kansas City, 15,000 registrations have been questioned, and last year four ACORN employees were indicted for fraud.
In addition, ACORN officials have also been indicted in Wisconsin and Colorado. Investigations against others are active in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
ACORN has also been registering convicted felons — including inmates — in Florida and other battleground states.
ACORN boasts registering a record 1.5 million new voters so far this election.
It is reasonable to ask whether ACORN is in fact a criminal conspiracy to subvert the voting rights of Americans. Which makes it all the more remarkable that Barack Obama paid ACORN $800,000 to register new voters, and then lied about it, falsely telling the Federal Elections Commission that the $800,000 went to a group called Citizen Services Inc. for "advance work."
Today John McCain addressed ACORN's increasingly problematic role in the campaign at a rally in Wisconsin, one of the states in which dozens of ACORN employees are under criminal investigation:
Yes, you see, its just a few people at ACORN who committed voter fraud. Just a little, here and there. But is this a recent phenomena?
Here's a concise and detailed short history of the group:
