Ann Coulter is an extremist political commentator. She makes her money by being extreme.

She's also precisely correct.

Like it or not, BC, most normal people live somewhere in the middle.

Which in essence means that most people are politically apathetic, don't know what they believe, or are not capable of taking committed, coherent positions on issues.

Your problem, BC, is that you are mired in the Old Testament's Law of Moses. In the New Testament, Christ came and FULFILLED the law.

I'm not sure of the applicability of the the principle here. Neither Obama nor the Pelosi led congress are going to reach across the aisle to anyone, nor have they yet done so, and the Republicans have lost disastrously precisle becaue they have reached across the aisle and abandoned their principles in the process. I'm not for a tit for tat Obama Derangement Syndrome of the kind that has gripped the Left over the last eight years, but I am for treating Obama and the Pelosi congress as they deserve: as political and cultural enemies. That, after all, is how they perceive conservatives and Republicans, and an unrealistic response to that is simply politically suicidal.

I didn't call anyone stupid. I stated that Ann Coulter is an extremist. She is.

Upon what basis? I disagree completely. Coulter is a polemicist, but she is not an extremist, although she uses extreme rhetoric and metaphors to make her points, most of which, when one cuts through the sarcastic political humor, is right on regarding the Left and the Democratic party.

The Democrats, the elected Democratic officials that is, famously have had a weak backbone with the Bush administration.

Uh huh...

... That includes taking impeachment off the table even though there was real good evidence of impeachable offense on the torture and spying fronts. Quite scandalous in my opinion.

Yeah right...

Coulter's talking more about the anti-Bush left here, though. I take her comment as ironic as she caters to the exact crowd that was preaching authoritarian obedience to the president, regardless of your personal politics, out of respect for the office...

Uh huh. Right.

Interesting how an individual who claims not to be a leftist in very point of fact holds beliefs that for all intents and purposes are identical to those of Michael Moore and Dennis Kucinich.

OK. Name five educated people we have all heard of in this country that are further right than her.

Look, Ann Coulter is significantly to the right of George Bush, who won about 50% of the vote and John McCain, who won something like 46%. She doesn't fit into the political middle.
