Barack H. Obama is now officially, the 44th President of the United States of America.

An unmitigated disaster for the entire world. Would be for any liberal or Democratic put in office but this one's also media elected instead of by the people and for the people thinking for themselves.

Interesting. Would you care to be more specific about what you mean by "unmitigated disaster"? What exactly do you think is going to happen? Be as specific as possible. What is Obama going to do that will be disastrous?

I also think the media's influence is largely overestimated (after all, this was the same "media" that was in power both times Bush got elected). If anything, the "media" have been weakening in power, with the proliferation of voices and information on the internet. I still haven't heard anyone explain why the "media" picked Obama over Clinton in the primaries, especially the early ones, when he was a 1M:1 long shot.

And the "media" didn't pick the one republican nominee who publicly admitted that the economy "was not his strong suit". And the "media" didn't choose Palin to be his running mate. McCain didn't need the "media's" help to lose the election. He was able to do that all by himself.

The Republicans have 4 years to get their act together and find someone who can actually beat Obama. And that person better be a certified, grade-A rockstar. But, this being the party that ran Bob Dole against Bill Clinton, I'm not placing any bets.

I just wish I thought people had voted for him because they agreed with his ideas, instead of that he is black. How lowering, to be elected simply because of your skin color. I mean... really... what does that say about your ideas?

You have got to be kidding me. Are you saying that within four years, we went from Al Sharpton getting 27 delegates in the Democratic Primaries to 2306 for Obama in 2008, so in four years there was an almost 9,000% increase in the number of people that would vote for someone just because they are black?

To what do you attribute this incredible increase in voters who vote based on skin color and prefer black candidates?

As much as I like Obama, the real test of his presidency will come in his actions. As former British PM Harold Wilson once said, "a week is a long time in politics".

That one doesn't have any. I don't think anyone in the black community besides the elitist NAACP and associated organizations and allies had any idea what he stood for or what his background is. The media laregly refused to back away from it's love fest and do some actual reporting and this is why he is a media elected president.
