Well, the reason I made my comments were because Ajax asked a question about how much his Mission President made.
Although I don't have exact figures, since my in-laws served in that capacity, I have a fairly good idea of how Church funds were allocated to them, and for what purposes....all of which I have no problem contributing tithing to help support.
When I was a financial secretary in my mission I was in charge of approving my mission president's reimbursements, so I was given a list from the church of what the mission president was covered for and what he had to pay for on his own. The general guideline was living expenses were entirely his responsibility, and anything directly related to his performing his duties as mission president was reimbursable.
I also became good friends with my mission president (he sealed my wife and me), who worked over tithing for 5 years and over church welfare for 10 (he's also a close relative of Elder Holland). He spent the six months I was financiero filling me in on church finances and how they operated. He said he thought I would be working in it someday, so I should get acquainted with it. This is what prompted Merc to claim I was having sex with my mission president, and this is why I know what the stipends look like.
