I think we all believe we do this, it just manifests differently in our lives.



If there is a God, my guess is that this divine entity would understand that each of us is managing the best way we know how.

I was led through the links to reading the Dialogue article about Joseph Smith's grandson experimenting with peyote. I had never known about that before. It is always nice to learn something new.

The next time I get to SLC, I am going to take a journey to Safford. I have wanted to do that for years, but haven't been back to the states in some time. I am hoping next year around October time. That should be a beautiful time of year out in the desert, don't you think?

Ezias, I read through the entire OP and culled out a few things I will discuss at this time:

The notion that we are godlike inherently is false. We are not gods in embryo, neither do we bring into this life a divine nature as LDS are wont to believe. These concepts were foisted upon Joseph's coat tails when he first mentioned that God was once like man even as Jesus. The cult masters seized upon this to lay the foundation for their takeover of Mormonism and quickly dispatched both Joseph Smith and Hyrum. So that their misconstruction of these concepts might turn the focus of the Church away from Christ and center it upon man and Joseph would not be around to correct it.

LOL I was totally caught off guard by this. It seemed you had lived already forever in the narrative and I was taken aback that you were so young.

Ok, now that you have done some comparing and realize that your own spiritual experiences are not that unique, then how do you explain them outside a Mormon context? They are all too common psychic phenomena.

This is where I grind my ax. The essential doctrine and gospel of the Restoration is the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost. I wrote a reply to "Joseph Smith was not baptized a member of the church" or something like that, thread in the terrestial forum just yesterday. You can read through that to get the gist of the real gospel.

What is sad for you and our entire generation of time is that the real gospel has been lost and forgotten and inexperienced and never administered in the last one hundred years of Mormonism.

What you make common with all religions and other sorts of things is NOT the same things as being wrought upon and cleansed by the visitation of the Father in a manifestation of his power with a baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost. I is immature and spiritually unsophisticated to lump all spiritualistic phenomena as equal to the very core of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Few there be that find it.

I don’t think that a person’s religion matters to God, as long as they are following what is truly in their heart. The heart is the spiritual mirror, looking into it you will find yourself and subsequently find God. If you are having trouble with this, there are natural
plant/fungal medicines God has created on all continents and in all cultures, to help you
along. Just don’t abuse them. They have power to heal and give knowledge, but they also
have power to destroy if used rashly. If you fear the black dot the medicine hides behind,
then use another technique, like holotropic breathing or something similar. The Bible and
Book of Mormon would recommend fasting and praying (meditation), but that is one of the
more dangerous methods for your health, and I personally don’t recommend fasting for long
unhealthy periods of time. I went 2 days without food and water once. It scared me afterward
s when I realized it might just have caused a brush with death.

I have gone ten full days with no food or water. I was working full time and at hard labor. Imagine that! What could have possibly kept me alive? Faith and the power of God. I continued fasting until I accomplished forty-three days. But I was allowing myself one quart of either orange juice or gatorade per day. I worked at an easier job during this latter time and only had to walk about ten miles a day.
I did have a brush with death at day 26.

More to the overall topic, this finding of God is relative to what will pass for God. The scriptures have a hidden element that I wrote a thread about also found in the terrestial forum "Living But Hidden Proof That Joseph Smith was a Prophet" I think you have replied on that thread.

There is a key to discerning whether or not you have found God. The key is if he was found on his terms or on your own. The scripture teach us what his terms are. If you have found God any way that can be construed as more of less than what Christ has commanded then I would say you have sold out way to short and you have no clue what the real power of God is all about and what a real spiritual manifestation is. Demons can only give you pop spiritual/psychic crap.

Oh, not to mention all of the source material for the doctrine which can be traced without a doubt to contemporary sources.

I have invented a few things in my day. Nothing is more discouraging than leafing through the shoe boxes of older patent claims in the U. S. Patent Office. You think you got an original idea and you flip something over and there is YOUR idea fifty years ago. MAN!

The exhaustive search for discrediting Joseph Smith has found similarities out there has it. Oh! Better chuck it all!

I think God knows who all his prophets are better than you., all yuor Greek notwithstanding. There could be ten named Elias, ten named Ezais and lots of Jameses. [smilie]

You had this idea that you knew better than the great Joseph Smith and all the drugs in the world are there to help you get some credit.
It would have been better had you believed in Jesus Christ and found the depths of humility without drugs and repented with full purpose of heart and sought the kingdom of God and his righteousness and hungered and thirsted in meekness and contrite broken heartedness until you were visited of God and redeemed of the Lord and born of God and given power to become one of the sons of God.

You chose shrooms. You chose poorly.
Let's say you did as I did and were truly wrought upon and made a saint and prophet of God. What would you think of your heritage of Mormonism after that? Joseph would look like one who had obtained the same things that you now possess. You would see him in a whole new light. As I do. Regardless that the LDS Church has fumbled the gospel and dropped the power of godliness.
