Re: What is the proper disposal method for a Shriner Fez
i mean, i thought the OP was intended as a joke, so i wasn't sure if all the responses were also faux arguing. as much as i like joking around, i'm often unable to tell when other people are, especially online.

For an Englishman living in the dark. What on earth is a Shriner?
Is it like the Rotary Club, or Lion's Club with funny hats?

I'm just curious as to if there is a customary way to dispose of this gaudy thing. Do Shriner's have guidelines on these things? It was another thread that sparked my curiosity as to what we would do with this headdress once my FIL passes away. by the way, he wasn't in the go-cart unit.

From what I read, I'm going to find a white apron too.

The proper disposal method is to throw it in the trash can.

What isn't fun about riding around on a go-cart wearing a festive fez?

Why?

Re: What is the proper disposal method for a Shriner Fez
maybe i overreacted. it's just that at first i thought the OP was intended as a joke aimed a poking fun at the proper TG disposal method. then i realized that he/she seemed to be honestly asking what to do, which means there really is an older FIL that is a shriner, which means you're suggesting that something that was meaningful to him be thrown in the trash. it'd be one thing if he were fed up with the shriners and decided to trash it himself, but to suggest throwing away a dead man's meaningful possession is kinda heartless, no? or is there information that i'm not privy to?
and by the way, no, one cannot infer from my statements that i do think it's ok to suggest throwing away a dead person's TGs if that person wouldn't have done it themselves. just a little preemptive statement in case anyone was thinking it.
