Need Apologetic Response: Lamanites from Joseph or Jews?

Hello Celestial Forum visitors,

Can anyone give me the apologetic response for the following apparent conflicts?

1 Ne 5:14 says that Lehi is a descendant of Joseph

However,

2 Ne 30:4 says that the remnant of Nephi's seed are descendants of the Jews.

and

D&C 19:27 says that the Lamanites are a remnant of the Jews.

I don't know any way around it, but I've seen some pretty amazing apologetic Jedi mind tricks -- "these are not the lamanites you are looking for."

It's not all that difficult. My mother is German and Irish, my Dad is Scottish and Cherokee, that make me Scotch, Irish, German and Cherokee.

Those particular Lamanites set sail for Easter Island many moons agos.

They are here as the groups we know as American Indians. The are here as the dark skinned folk who inhabit the islands of the South Seas. The are here from Alaska to the tip of South America... all the native folk of The Americas descended from Father Lehi. You read Joseph Smith to Spencer Kimball and you pray about it and you will get a Testimony of it as Truth.

Now go find the grave of Zelph, the great white Lamanite warrior and put all your doubts to rest.

I think "Jews" is being used here in a general sense and not specifically of the tribe of Judah. Also, I think it unreasonable to suppose that Jerusalem and surrounds were homogenously 100% Judah and Benjamin.
