Not sharing. Get your own Holy Ghost.
Do you think that any of these prophets believed that the Holy Ghost was inspiring them to say whatever it is the Holy Ghost has revealed to you to be false teachings?

Doubt it.

So are you saying that prophets knowingly taught things as if they were inspired when in fact they were not?

They taught uninspired things before. Knowingly? Not sure. I don't read people's minds. Luckily the saints get the Holy Ghost while the apostates and critics flounder around with the hilarity of circus clowns trying to pin us down. It's funny to watch.

Yes. As opposed to your orderly system, where men hold priesthood keys and are called to receive inspiration and revelation for the entire Church, and yet God sometimes reveals to rank-and-file members that the teachings of these men within the scope of their role as prophets are wrong.

Yep, it works great. It requires lay members to be actively involved in the revelatory process. Of course that requires effort so I can understand why it would annoy you.

Not to say that it allows rank-and-file members to veto whatever the prophet says that they don't like, as well as receive inspiration that contradicts what is presumptively inspired counsel from the prophet (and yes, the Church does presume that the teachings of prophets and apostles are inspired counsel).

No, no it doesn't. You see, only the Holy Ghost can do that and if you use it in an unwarranted manner you are lying to yourself and corrupting yourself and are on your merry way to hell.

Bottom line: a nominally believing member of the Church is righteous when he says the prophets are teaching false things.
A no-longer-believing member who says the prophets are teaching false things is on the merry way to hell.
If I pick and choose what I want to believe from church teachings, I am a defender of the faith.
If someone else picks and chooses what they want to believe from church teachings, they are apostate/anti-Mormon/whatever.
Thank you, Nehor, for your concise example of militant cafeteria Mormonism at work.
