Oh, and the segmented slip I think is just to make us feel better, or worse as the case may be. Or for the bishop to look at and decide if you paid a full tithe. Honestly, I think it would make so much more sense to just call it all tithing and be done with it. I could barely scrape together 10%, let alone donate more money for all the other boxes which made me feel guilty that I wasn't giving more to the humanitarian fund, or the missionary fund, or the perpetual education fund, or fast offerings. Before you know it, you've donated your entire salary to the church and have to go ask the bishop for food. Sorry, this is kind of a sore subject.

That is an option on the tithing slip for a reason, it is a tithe to the Church. The only difference is that you are specifying where the money is to go. Even the most hardcore TBM would be hard pressed to explain that such a distribution is not as equally valid or more so, than that which is filtered into real estate aquisitions or building funds.
