garments over or under bra

I just don't believe that, if there is a God, he or she would care what type of underwear we wear, or how we wear it.

I just went to the temple the first time. And I am really having a hard time wearing my bra over the garment. Do I have too? Will i be looked down on by god for wearing my bra under my garment. I just want a little advice to ease my unsettled mind. Please help. Thank you so much stacey

You won't be 'looked down on', I don't really think he cares whether you wear it over or under. In fact, I'm certain he doesn't care.

A few years ago when I went with a new person to the temple, they told her, she could wear it either way--whatever was more comfortable.

Personally, I've tried it both ways, and I found that I prefer to wear my bra over garments because it prevents the itchiness from the elastic you can get after wearing a bra all day in hot weather.

Not good advice. A woman can do this if she's an A cup... maybe. But I would strongly caution against it if you have any more breast tissue than an A.

Wearing a bra even to sleep in is good advice. Breasts fall as we age and this helps keep it from happening as quickly. They make some very nice, comfortable bras that work well for this--they provide enough support for the breasts, but are still comfortable.

With all due respect - I wouldn't come on the internet and ask a bunch of [Terrestrial content deleted] anti-LDS types about sacred things. Go to the temple and ask a temple worker.. or your Bishop or Relief Society President. Despite the antis trying to trivialize these things it is simple. Under. End of.

Well, to the degree that I am aware of these things, I understand the current practice is to allow the individual wearer to be guided by their own feelings, regardless of what the traditional opinions have been.

If you intend to dispense "simple" answers to such inquiries, it might be a good idea to have a chat with the Temple matron on your next visit and ask what the most up-to-date views on the subject are, since simple answers aren't always the correct ones.

that's right, don't ask here. Instead, ask in The Temple where you are surrounded by inspired leadership. Imagine the inspired advice on this Felix Urioste would have been given if He/She had asked in The Temple as He/She was being sealed to Her/his husband?

Maybe they wuold have discerned she was really HE and finally someone, somewhere in the chain of leadership would have figured out something was really WRONG the day the two guys were sealed together in eternal marriage.

We have children all over the world living in the most horrific of circumstances; starving, abused, neglected and somehow God is caring about what underwear is worn by a virtual handful of adults?

Even more crazy is that the God of the Universe would demand women wear ugly underwear designed for men. ;-)

Here in VA it is nearly 100 degrees every day. People have a difficult enough time trying to stay cool... but God wants to make life even more miserable for his favorite children by adding yet another layer of clothing. It makes NO sense to me. Another test perhaps?

It apparently didn't make sense to Joseph Smith either. In an article about "Nauvoo Myths", Kevin Barney shares this about the day of the martyrdom :

Willard Richards was the only one wearing his garments that day. The story has always been that the others put theirs aside to protect them from being desecrated by the mob. But according to John Taylor, who is our best informant on these events, that is not the case. In reality, they weren’t wearing their garments because it was so dang hot. (And if you’ve ever been to Nauvoo on a hot and humid day, like when my wife and I parked cars for the temple dedication, you surely will not blame these brethren for their eminently good sense.)

Not to worry any longer. In the new and improved Garment Center to be named Victorias Sacred, not Secret, there will be tops with built in push up bras, low cut(but modest) bras and lacy and racy(but modest) bras so this will no longer be a problem.

Special materials that can be dyed any color and hue but will wash out 'white and delightsome' in the laundry so one can play the tart and become as an angel during the day so no one will be the wiser.

It is coming, just one of the many new and inspired stores in Jesus new Shopping Mall next to Temple Rectangle in Gods Town, Salt Lake City, Utah.
