It IS doctrine.

it IS taught.

GBH himself taught it.

Of course, whenever this comes up, the obvious question critics ask is this:

"Why would the one and only true prophet of God on this earth lie about the doctrines of the church he heads?"

'Answer: because the church is not what it claims to be, and Prophet leading it does not have the power and authority he claims to have.'
eschew obfuscation

So since it is pretty clear that it was taught and accepted as doctrine, why are they backing away from it now?

Public opinion matters more, much more, than doctrinal integrity.

They are backing away from this doctrine/teaching because it is a divisive belief at odds with other evangelical and Christian churches. The church wants to "mainstream", and its teachings about the trinity are wholly at odds with mainstream Christianity.

The concept of God being less than a God, and once a man is diametrically opposed to other Christian teachings of God and the trinity.

Thus, GBH needs to whitewash, lie or obfuscate what the church has taught for expediency's sake.

That is why GBH authored a book titled, "Standing for Something", which is nothing more than hollow platitudes.

When the prophet of the "one true church" isn't willing to stand up for his own beliefs, why should a single soul ever attend a Mormon ward house again?

It boggles the mind.

Oh, and Pahoran is a royal douchebag.

I think that's an insult to platitudes.
