Stem has at least 2 catch phrases already: "pep pep" and "love ya tons". Though, I will allow, neither sounds terribly super villain-y.
You're going to have to work pretty hard to make those catch phrases sound sinister, stem. I think you can do it, but you should definitely practice in front of a mirror first. :)

The pep pep could be flippant and the love ya tons cruelly ironic. Like as he vaporizes your cat he says "love ya tons." I can totally see it. We need blixa to draw the evil reality bending, volume speaking, The Stem Elbow.

That he gets bludgeoned for doing so helps me appreciate why many apologists avoid being as frank as he was.
I don't see stem as having done "anything wrong". I think he is either lacking in introspection (i.e., the unexamined self) or disingenuous. I think as a rational human being, stem has a consistent 'world view' in which the pieces generally harmonize. Of course, I am one who ascribes to the theories of Leon Festinger.
Maybe I am going wrong in assuming stem thinks rationally. But maybe stem has rationalized the fit of the pieces together into his 'world view', but is not confident in those fittings and therefore tries to divert attention and analysis away from those fittings. So I perhaps see a profession of imperfect rationality as something much different than honesty. Rather, I see it as a deflection, a defense mechanism to keep hidden those 'fittings' in which newly acquired information has caused growing fissures and he is back into a state of flux: assimilation and accomodation of the new information, and the reformulation of his revised 'world view'.
I don't think that is very fair at all, Sock. I am sure we can all agree that the 'completely rational' being is a mythical creature. However, it is also pretty clear that it is often difficult to identify our own irrationalities. Our brains just aren't well designed for that kind of filter. The single organ is both the thing that believes stuff and the judge of how 'rational' each belief is (i.e., no robust checks or balances).
That stem has actually identified a less rational portion of his own belief system shows a good degree of introspection, not a lack of it. The problem with cognitive tensions is not that they exist, but that they are typically unrecognized by the holder.

I have to admit that initially I read all of stem's posts as sarcastic and mean-spirited. I don't see him that way anymore.

Come again? She's nothing but a rhinestone cowgirl. That link was a massive waste of time. Won't be following any of your future links, stemmy, based on that drivel.

Well said, NBZ. You're a sensible fellow.
