It dawned on me, too, that the style of the Book of Mormon might be (and I now testify that it actually is) much more subtle and sophisticated than we often realize.
Interesting. Years ago when I encountered the term exegesis in reference to the Bible I learned the same regarding the New Testament in particular (as personal quest). This makes me wonder the richness that will be uncovered in the Book of Mormon as more study and research is applied.
Love ya tons,

But what of Joseph Smith himself? His honesty and sincerity shine in his personal writings, in documents never intended for publication. For instance, the very first entry in his diary reads as follows:
Sincerity? Sure. Honesty? Well...
About the sword of Laban and the breastplates - who saw them?

The Three Witnesses claimed to have seen both. Lucy Mack Smith held and handled the latter, and may -- I find the account slightly ambiguous -- have to claimed to see them directly.

Re: My Column in the "Mormon Times"
Can someone remind me what honest and sincere Joseph said when asked if he was practicing Polygamy...?
And, correct me if I am mistaken, but I don't believe Joseph was tarred and feathered (or shot and killed for that matter) because of either his sincerity or his honesty...
In all honesty how many married women did succumb to Josephs sincere eternal advances...10...11...?
