Absolutely not the same thing at all. That was Joseph's ignorant guess. You only need to know what the word "evangelist" means to know it has nothing to do with fortune telling.

Yes. It's Joseph Smith-H 1:19 that really slams it home for standard Protestants and even Catholics as far as the Book of Mormon church of the Devil is concerned. As you stated, it's not that they worship or follow Satan directly. It's that their teachings, requirements, and heavenly authority (being nonexistent) are not sufficient or correct for eternal life, therefore they accomplish Satan's work by holding people back from those truths.

I was thinking the same thing but when I looked up President it did say one who is elected or appointed.

hugh? that's an odd statement. I'm more and more confused by Mormons every day. They seem to be ready to throw their book and prophets under the bus when they embarrass them. But then teach everyone that the prophets won't lead you astray, and the book is the most, what is it, perfect book ever written. Something like that.
