Please quote Ezra Taft Benson telling the church members that they should vote republican. It caused quite a stir in my parent's liberal group.

We don't.

I attend a very liberal presbyterian church, and am involved in their mission statement concerning social justice. Not once have I heard someone speak ill of the LDS church. We actually have a Mormon fellow in our choir, who isn't an apostate, but merely comes because we allow him to sing and play music he has written, something Mormons won't do, because it's too jazzy. Not one person in choir has ever said anything contrary to this gentleman about his beliefs. Not once.

Excellent. I wish more traditional Christian groups were like yours (though, granted, there are relatively few I would consider "anti-Mormon").

You don't have to support it to condone it, and, sadly, it looks like you do.

You guys are giving Simon what he wants. You are forgetting that he is most likely a non-believer pretending to be a believer to make the church look bad. I can't remember which well known apologist posted here that he wished Simon and a couple of others ( Droppy and Bcspace I think) would stop trying to defend the church because of how bad they made the church look.

I know what I said.

It's irrelevant, since I am granting you, this one time, a hypothetical:

For the purpose of this discussion, let us suppose that what God meant was that all other religions were wrong, and Mormonism was correct.

Okay?

That one solitary statement, for you, justifies [u]180 years of beatings, burnings, massacres, tarrings and featherings, extermination orders, hateful anti-Mormon publications, and militant fools protesting peaceful Conference goers twice a year?

You are one sick individual, jon.

Simon, I may be becoming forgetful so can you show me where I mentioned justifying the items I have underlined in your post?

It's not a hypothetical as you seem insistent on calling it. It's a very clear statement that is Mormon scripture. What else can 'all' mean? If it doesn't mean all, then by association that would mean that some of the Churches of Joseph Smith's day weren't wrong - so why the need for a restoration...?

And you really need to attend seminary again (for the first time?) as I think you'll find it was Christ that stated 'all' Church's were wrong. As memory serves all God said was 'this is my beloved son, hear him' (at least in the version of the vision that the Church chose to canonise).
