I miss DCP

Post by _LDS truthseeker »

The board just doesn't seem the same without him. And to make matters worse, I get my latest issue of the Mormon Times to see the latest article by my favorite apologist and no faith-promoting article by him or any other apologist in that issue.

Even a fence post gets tired of the cow pies thrown at it.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

There are cow pie guards on your salad bar? You may need to upgrade your choice of eating establishments, moksha.

You know, I was thinking that move toward troughs to save on dishes seemed suspicious.

Am I alone in thinking this place is a bit of a ghost town since Dr. Peterson took his ball and went home?

Maybe we should serve refreshments to get the chubby TBM's to show up once in a while. We'll call it a Linger-longer or Trailer Park 1st Ward Activity or something. We can have a dunk tank and a fish pond for the kiddies.

Have the mods been secretly banning people? Has Stak's arguments scared everyone away?

What is going around here?

I don't miss anyone who chooses to leave.
As for any impact, I think there's more fact based substantive discussions now and far less - avoidance, obfuscation and nastiness.

Whichever thread he showed up on, the topic became himself. He couldn't (and in most cases, wouldn't) comment on the subject, because too many times, posters threw cow pies. No one would let him be just Dan, a guy like everyone else who made some good points and some bad points... demands, demands, and more demands, and too often snide sarcastic cutting remarks about his person, his eating habits, his taste in music or the arts, his choice in personal hygiene products, for pete's sake.

And the result? He's gone. Whether forever from here, it's hard to say. But to get upset because some posters' favorite target has disappeared is ironic. There are still multiple threads about him; I guess that's as close as some posters are going to get. No doubt others will become the favorite target, in time.

Many did, but not all. many had no problem letting him express himself and try and stay with the discussion. As usual, the minority can wreck things for everyone.

He has sworn to not come back before, so it is hard to say what will happen.I think he really does like the attention, where most other critic of apologists are not really interested in the spot light.

True. I was hyperbolizing again.

And true for the last sentence too.
