So when d&c 54:8 has the lord saying to go to the borders among the Lamanites, who are the Lamanites if not the descendants of Lehi?

Natives of the America's who weren't Nephite. I.E. non-Nephites.

Both the Book of Mormon and Mormons have not said and believed that Lamanites are "only" those descended from Laman/Lemuel. This is the anti-mormon strawman that they then try and tear down.

Mormons are well respected professionals and scholars in their various fields.
They don't all of a sudden become stupid the moment they study Mormon issues. They apply the SAME standard of professionalism to Mormonism that they apply to their own work.

Bible scholarship done for 1,800 years ONLY by Jews and Christians, before Atheists and otherwise started using the book for scholarship doesn't mean those 1,800 years of work is all somehow invalid.

Yet, you morons would like to apply a double standard to us. That, just because we aren't big enough, or been around long enough, and there is still lot's of scholarship to occur, and thus we are not "mainstream" yet for many respected scholars outside of Mormonism to study it, that that somehow means Mormon scholarship is invalid, is not peer reviewed, is not professional, is equivalent to UFO studies.

If your intellectual discernment is so low that you compare us to UFO'its, clearly you aren't even really studying us at all. The fact is, our scholarship entirely debunks the claims of our enemy's, thus it can't be that bad. Yet, you enjoy your fantasy's of superiority instead of reality. Nope.... Cherry picking statements that only support your negative position IS NOT all the Book of Mormon has to say on the matter.
Anti-mormons do the same thing to the Bible creating theology's that ignore other important statements in the Bible which debunk such a "literal" interpretation.

The same statement is said in the Bible a time or two, yet each time there WERE other people living there, and around them.

See folks, this is a good example of how anti-mormons lie. They cherry pick whatever claim, be it something in scripture, something some leader said, and then build their strawman that they then attack. Problem is, while they are doing that, they IGNORE the context of the issue itself, either the surrounding context, or the context of the subject itself, i.e. ALL that has been said or relates to the issue.

The Book of Mormon is full of examples of "others" being there. The population growth of the peoples is just a beginning fact as to that point. But there are other examples, various peoples mentioned, etc. etc. Read up and learn some actual truth, I'm not going to do your work for you.

Mormons are truth seekers from where-ever the truth may come. We are FAR from hard-line partisans. Further, being a partisan does mean you have a bias, but that doesn't mean all partisans aren't able to put aside that bias to get at the whole and complete truth.

Your all's views tell me you study very little of actual LDS scholarship. Because if you did, you would know we tackle ALL SIDES of an issue to get at the actual truth. Yet, every anti-mormon tomb does what was just done above. Quote-mines then ignores everything else on the subject, and then proceeds to judge.
