Incorrigible stupidity.
Look genius, the Huffington post did not invent Muller, the data or his overdue exit from denialism. The story is the same if one gets it straight from those involved.
Go directly to Muller's website if you like. (I know you won't--you will only get the distorted version as told by the denialist nuts)

Irrational loons like you are dangerous unwitting agents of darkness. You are part of the reason that the internet is full of misinformation and anti-knowledge. People like you are the reason this country is increasingly scientifically illiterate. You guys do real harm. I truly wish there were going to be a judgement.

You can take your superstition, your twinkly fairy tales, your rumor based Peter Pan belief system, your creationism, your bigfoot (Cain), your fringe scientific bunk, your ignorant anti-science denialism and wrap it all up in blanket of smelly spirit matter and shove it where the medium of Kae-e-vanrash don't shine.

The Muller review of the evidence is important and compelling, not just because his study was funded by the Koch brothers to debunk global warming but because he was a foremost skeptic of global warming science. That he has confirmed the prior research and changed his mind is important, but apparently Frank and others are politically motivated to ignore it.

For those who don't want to wade through Muller's data, here's his summary in the Wall Street Journal:

The Case Against Global-Warming Skepticism

He also had a video presentation on his web site that lays it out pretty well.

Ah, the angry retired weatherman. LOL

I loved this quote:
This is sad, because I had very high hopes for this project as the methodology is [sic] looked very promising to get a better handle on station discontinuity issues with their “scalpel” method

In other words, he had high hopes because he thought it would confirm his denialism.
But now, it didn't turn out the way he hoped so all the stuff he said before about how good the methods were and all that is right out the window.
Amazingly unscientific--even dishonest. He obviously only thinks science is good if it confirms his prejudices. That reminds me of Franktalk.

Why do the science at all if there is only one outcome that one is going to accept because of religion and politics??
Save yourself the trouble and just keep believing what you are bound and determined to believe from the start.

If I might interject a great learning that allows a greater awareness to dawn within us.

The surface story or idea or conclusion is not the whole story. What is truth is the little details underneath the greater idea, which we cannot usually see because of our blind spots, because of preconceptions of things being black and white. But if we allow God to reveal our blind spots - ideas and conclusions based on fears, desires and self-grasping, we will see what is behind our idea or belief, we will see the ground from which what we are perceiving is arising.

Curious in discovering such subtleties behind appearances in this world, we see how two appearances that appear mutually exclusive can arise from the same details or truths and thus in reality - without blind spots - be equally true.

To put this in terms of applications, when we have an idea or belief or thought, but are blind to all that is giving rise to this idea or to what we are perceiving, we end up mowing down truth with our limited idea or feeling or thought, bull dozing the truth from which this idea arose. So in affect, we have destroyed truth, or at least our perceiving of truth, for the sake of a singular idea or belief.

I think Jesus said something along these lines:

Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.

Shalom!

Good fine. (Exceot that I essentially never think things are black and white

But if we allow God to reveal our blind spots - ....

Oops! You were doing fine but now you have lost me. You see, listening to our mystical inner voices and confirming spiritual feelings of warmth etc. etc. is often just a way of letting our subconscious speak to us and it is no surprise that this would end up being just a confirmation of our preconceptions and prejudices.

In other words, you think you are listening to the Great Spirit but you are only listening to yourself in disguise.

How to overcome this? Well, we need public standards of evidence and rationality and that is what real science is all about. It is never perfectly executed but it moves along surely but slowly.

Tarski,

Please answer some questions for me.

1. Muller received $600,000 for the study. We know the Koch brothers provided one forth of the money, where did the other money come from?

2. Is there any plan to continue research? And if so who will fund that research?

3. Muller is said to have gone back to Franklin to study temperatures. That is fine. Were the temps already going up in those days? Seems to me that cars were not on the roads in those days. Have you heard of the little ice age? When did it end?

4. Please point out where Muller said that man is causing the majority of the earths temperature rise?

5. Do you know what a Maunder minimum is? Do you think we are entering one? What happened last time we had one?

6. Printout this post and your response. Attach it to your refrigerator with a magnet. In ten years review what you wrote. At that time you will be either a hero who tried to save the world or you will be a complete idiot. I will take that chance that I will be viewed as an idiot.

You don't need to wait that long to be viewed as an idiot.

PS: There is nothing that you know about climate science that mainstream climate scientists don't know better. Then there the is stuff you only think you know.

+1

My main problem is with ...ehm... that idiots that the global warming and the overpopulation are trends. Trends we can detect and/or we can deny.

Denying means we should not do anything. Then, the trend leads us to a point we can not turn it back.
If I begin to overtake another car (yeaaah! that stupid one who constantly is in the way! and he/she is 1 mph slower than limit! and redheaded! and...) then there is a point with no return.

And it is too late. The global warming and the overpopulation can not be turn back if it reached that point. We should stop it before.

I have 19 grandchildren. (OK, one of them comes in May...)

I will be judged by the actual events of the future, your assessment means nothing. I do pray that we do not grow cold. Just a small drop and billions will starve. But a rising temp will lengthen the growing seasons and food will be available for the worlds population. A look at the earths temperature in the past shows this. The big past not the small past you people keep talking about. Time will tell, we are in God's hands.

You global warming people sure do get worked up. If you care so much for people then go to where people need help and help them. Or are you one of those who wish to take everybody's money and spend it on your causes? Maybe you can get the UN to manage the program. They did such a wonderful job with the food for oil program.

Just for laughs go back and look at the early projections of the global warming people. Then compare with what actually happened. When they get anything right let me know, but until then it is all junk.
