What if the Anti's Lived in Biblical Times?
I have thought about this recently somewhat. I think that if they lived during the days of Noah, they may have tried to rewrite history, as usual, until they would be destroyed by the flood. I think also that if they lived in the days of Abraham that some of the would have condemned him for having more that one woman. Perhaps, if they would have lived in the days of Moses, they would have condemned him for all those weird temple, err I mean tabernacle ceremonies. And, if they would have lived during the time of king David, I am not doubtful at all that they would have called Nathan a false prophet for telling the king to build a temple to the Lord, and later contradicting himself (due to a revelation from the Lord). I believe that if they had lived in the time of Christ, that they would have really become active in condemning Him as a radical who would make such statements as telling someone to sell all that he had so he could be distributed among the poor. Now days, I'm confident that they would say, oh, we would have never done those things, and all the while today they are doing those very same things, condemning the modern prophets and revelations which they don't understand as well as Christ's church, and offending God by blindly following Satan when he whispers "attack" as they have historically always done!

If they lived during the days of gandalf they would surely have worked to thwart his plan to destroy the one ring....

Since Mormonism is a modern revival of Hermetic or Esoteric Christianity, there is no direct analogue in Hebraic civilization. "Mormons" as such would have been practicing a form of Egyptian or Babylonian religion. Anti-Mormons would have been defenders of Hebrew identity and orthopraxy.
The closer comparison is to the centuries immediately after the Gospels. Mormons would have been primarily located in and around Alexandria, practicing Hermes/Thoth-based immortality rituals. Anti-Mormons would have fallen into one of two camps: educated pagan philosophers like the Stoics, or proto-orthodox Christian commentators who defined "Mormon" esotericism entirely out of the Christian tradition proper.

I think that you have missed my point. Even the claims of having true prophets like the Biblical ones by other Christian religions today are rare indeed, and if there are any that even claim it at all, it is false claim.

One! There would be one moment of free speech!

Seriously though I sense that the OP laments that we don't live in biblical times when critics could be labeled heretics and stoned to death or put to death or whatever to silence their criticisms.

They are as false as Joseph is a false prophet. He made it up, even though he may have been a pious fraud. It's not anti to disagree with some of his truth claims, especially if they provide evidence. To many like yourself like to view the world in black and white. If one disagrees they must be evil, the enemy, anti, etc. A more mature understanding would be better.

We just disagree about that Themis. I have studied this objectively for 45 years, and I have yet to find any proof of fraud. On the other hand, it amazes me that someone who didn't finish the 3rd grade could know and do so much!

I agree that Mormonism is the kind of religion one would expect to be produced by a person with a 3rd-grade education.
